Along with the notification for TANCET 2024 for MBA, MCA Degree admissions Anna University, Chennai simultaneously invites applications for registering for the Common Engineering Entrance Test and Admission (CEETA-PG - 2024) from students who are keen to pursue postgraduate courses in engineering, architecture and planning for the academic year 2024-2025. Seats to the courses will be allotted through an online counselling process, for which a notification will be issued by Anna University, Chennai at a later date.

Note that if you have a GATE score, then also you are required to appear for CEETA-PG - 2024. After qualifying the entrance test, you also need to fulfill the eligibility requirements of the university/college where you will be seeking admission to the PG course.Overview
Through the CEETA-PG – 2024 score you can get admission to M.E., M.Tech., M.Arch., and M.Plan. Degree courses which are offered at University Departments, constituent colleges of Anna University, Annamalai University, and Govt.-aided engineering colleges. The State Govt. of Tamil Nadu offers a few monthly scholarships for higher studies to meritorious students of the reserved categories as per reservation norms. Technical institutions that are affiliated with Anna University which receive funding from the Central Govt. of India and self-financed engineering colleges are also permitted to join this admission process and use the scores obtained through CEETA-PG – 2024 for their admission process.
All the PG courses are 2-year full-time ones of four semesters. Optionally, you can pursue a part-time 3-year PG program of six semesters. If you take up the full-time course, then you are expected to participate in all activities of the Department related to academics, co-curricular and extra-curricular fields. For the full duration of the course, you are not allowed to take up a part-time or full-time job with any company or institution. If you take up the PG course on a part-time basis, you cannot later switch to the full-time one.
Reservation details: Tamil Nadu native candidates can register under BC/BCM/MBC & DNC/SC/SCA/ST categories as applicable. These candidates must obtain and produce the relevant community certificate which has been issued by the competent authority. However, candidates from States outside Tamil Nadu are also welcome to apply but must submit their online application in the open category only even if they belong to a reserved category. Students who are refugees from Sri Lanka and have obtained the relevant recognized qualifying degree in an educational institution in Tamil Nadu will also be considered for admission to the PG programs in the open category.
The PG Courses through CEETA-PG - 2024 for which you can seek admission are under the following Faculties-
Faculty of Civil Engineering – 12 courses.
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering – 37 courses.
Faculty of Electrical Engineering – 12 courses.
Faculty of Information and Communication Engineering – 21 courses.
Faculty of Electronics and Communication Engineering – 23 courses.
Faculty of Technology – 22 courses.
Faculty of Architecture and Planning – 8 courses.Eligibility requirements
Nativity: You will be considered as a Tamil Nadu applicant only if you studied continuously for the last 5 years starting from Class XII Standard onwards in the State of Tamil Nadu. If you are a native of Tamil Nadu but have studied in Class XII or/and studied the Diploma, or Degree course in another State, then you must upload a photocopy of the Nativity Certificate which will be accepted only in electronic form/digitally signed e-certificate.
Educational Qualification: You should have passed a recognized Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in the relevant field with a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying exam (45% for BC, BCM, MBC, SC, SCA and ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu). Any of these are eligible qualifications-
Additional requirements: You should have passed all the subjects in the recognized Bachelor's degree program or equivalent in the relevant field in the qualifying degree exam as per the norms of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). A B.E./B.Tech. Degree obtained through Distance mode or weekend mode is not considered an eligible qualification for CEETA-PG – 2024.
In case you have a qualification that you consider to be equivalent to the prescribed one, you must obtain the eligibility certificate from the Director, Academic Courses, Anna University, Chennai-600 025 on or before the last date of registration of the online application. This will be verified by the admission authority, that is, whether or not it is valid as eligibility for the PG program to which you are seeking admission.
You can also register for CEETA-PG – 2024 if you registered for the final semester/year exam of the qualifying degree program for the academic year 2023-2024.

CEETA-PG – 2024 Format and Syllabus
The 2-hour entrance test has three sections-
Part I (20 marks): This is a compulsory section having 20 questions with one mark awarded for a correct answer and 1/4th deducted for an incorrect answer. No marks will be deducted for an unanswered question.
Part II (20 marks): This is a compulsory section having 20 questions with one mark awarded for a correct answer and 1/4th deducted for an incorrect answer. No marks will be deducted for an unanswered question.
Part III (60 marks): There are 60 questions with one mark awarded for a correct answer and 1/4th deducted for an incorrect answer. No marks will be deducted for an unanswered question.

CEETA-PG – 2024 Fees: The following fee applies to all the courses, namely, M.E., M.TECH., M.ARCH., and M.Plan. for CEETA-PG – 2024-
For SC/SCA/ST applicants of Tamil Nadu: The exam fee is Rs.500/- + the counselling fee of Rs.400/- + 18% GST. So the total fee is Rs.972/-.
For all other applicants: The exam fee is Rs.1000/- + the counselling fee of Rs.800/- + 18% GST. So the total fee is Rs. Rs.1944/-.
CEETA-PG - 2024 Test Centres The entrance test will be conducted at the centres in these cities- Bargur, Chennai, Coimbatore, Chidambaram, Dindigul, Erode, Karaikudi, Madurai, Nagercoil, Salem, Thanjavur, Tirunelveli, Tiruchirapalli, Vellore, and Villupuram.CEETA-PG - 2024 Registration and Application procedure
The registration process is the same for all PG programs. You have to register and apply on the CEETA-PG - 2024 official registration portal with a photo and signature (refer to the official information bulletin for specifications required).
The documents that should be scanned and uploaded are as follows-
After you have filled up the online application form, check that all the details have been entered correctly. Then submit it and pay the application fee online. Download the completed application form for future reference, and log in again on the website after a couple of days to check the approval status of the online registration.
Important note: All of the above should be uploaded in a single PDF file with the file size of less than 5MB.Important dates
Online registrations will begin on 10th January 2024, 10 a.m. onward.
The last date for online registrations is 7th February 2024.
CEETA-PG - 2024 Exam Date: The entrance test for all the PG programs, that is, ME, MTech, March, and MPlan is the same: 10th March 2024 (Sunday) from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
The Hall Ticket for CEETA-PG – 2024 should be downloaded from the official website where you registered and must be shown at the Test Centre as well as afterward for further verification and admission procedures. Hence, keep it safe even after the entrance test. In case you do lose it, you can put in a request for a duplicate to The Secretary, ANCET, Anna University, Chennai – 600 025 and pay a fee of Rs. 300/- for it in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of "The Secretary, TANCET, Anna University" payable at Chennai. The registration number/application number should be mentioned when you send the request.
The CEETA-PG – 2024 scorecard will also be available to download at the same website once the result of CEETA-PG - 2024 is declared.Contact information
