The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra has announced the dates for the Common Entrance Test (CET) for students seeking admission to the first year of the 2-year regular course in Education leading to B.Ed. (Regular) and also B.Ed. (Special Education) for the academic year 2024-25. Both are full-time professional degree courses that are conducted in educational institutions that are recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)/Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). MAH-B.Ed. CET 2024 registration information
Candidates from Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) belonging to any category should apply in the Open Category only. NRIs, Foreign Students, OCIs, and PIO candidates are also welcome to apply for admission to the courses. These candidates are exempt from the CET and can directly register for CAP after the completion of the CET exam and the result declaration.
It should be noted that if you are seeking admission to English medium colleges, then you also need to appear for the English Language Content Test (ELCT) along with MAH-B.Ed. CET 2024 and give the specific option for ELCT while filling in the online application form of CET. Once the online application form has been submitted, you cannot later put in a request for the ELCT.
MAH-B.Ed. CET 2024 Eligibility Requirements
Nationality: Only Indian citizens can register for the MAH-B.Ed. CET exam.
Age criterion: There is no upper age limit for admission to MAH-B.Ed. CET exam for 2024-2025. The age will be calculated as of 1st July 2024.
Educational qualifications: You should have passed a 3-year Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree with any of these subjects studied as Special/Optional level at the UG/PG level (and check also the B.Ed. Subject Specialization Table on page 27 & 28 of the CET brochure)-
Science and Mathematics: Science and Maths.
Social Sciences: (i) History (ii) Geography (iii) Economics (iv) Political Science (v) Psychology (vi) Philosophy (vii) Education and (viii) Library Science.
Humanity Sciences - Language and Literature: (i) Marathi (ii) Hindi (iii) Urdu (iv) Sanskrit (v) Pali (vi) Prakrut (vii) Gujarathi (viii) Sindhi, etc.
Commerce.
Marks in the qualifying exam: You should have got a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved class categories belonging to the State of Maharashtra, with a valid certificate as supporting proof).
Candidates who are Indian Nationals born in Maharashtra or Domiciled in Maharashtra and have completed, both, Graduation and Post Graduation from a University in the State of Maharashtra, can also apply with the relevant qualification and specialization in these disciplines- engineering & technology, management, computer science, law, IT, agriculture, Bachelor of Banking & Insurance, Medical Sciences, Fine Art, Performing Art, and all Social Sciences (candidates should check the official brochure for alternative acceptable qualifications).
Marks in the qualifying exam for these candidates: You should have got a minimum of 55% marks (50% for reserved class categories belonging to the State of Maharashtra, with a valid certificate as supporting proof).
Note: You can also register for the MAH-B.Ed. CET- 2024 if you are appearing/have appeared for the qualifying UG/PG exam of the academic year 2024. However, you will be eligible for Admission only if you produce the provisional/Degree Certificate of the qualifying exam and mark sheets of all parts of the qualifying exam at the time of admission.

You can pay the non-refundable processing fee for the application in online mode by Credit Card/Debit Card (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/Mobile Wallets, with service charges as applicable. The application fee is as follows -
For Open Category candidates from Maharashtra: Rs. 1000/-.
For Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) candidates/All-India candidates belonging to all categories, and J&K Migrant candidates: Rs. 1000/-.
For reserved category candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only and having a valid Caste Certificate and a valid Non-creamy Layer Certificate which is valid up to March 2025 for DT-VJ, NT1, 2,3, OBC & SBC candidates: Rs.800/-.
For Orphans, and Transgender candidates: Rs. 800/.MAH-B.Ed. CET 2024 Application Procedure
First you must go through the MAH-B.Ed. CET Information brochure from the official website, then register online with a valid email ID and contact mobile number, and proceed to fill up the online application form at MAH-CET website.
Scan and upload your photo and signature (refer to the information brochure for guidelines about the size, and other aspects required). You can select any three centers for the CET from the options provided. Original documents will be required for document verification only at the time of admission, during the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) in the college where you are seeking admission for the degree course.
Important: You need to keep a soft copy as well as a hard copy of the CET application form, the fee receipt, and the hall ticket (with your photo) duly signed by the Invigilator at the time of CET. All these will be required for the admission processes for the B.Ed. (Regular/Special Education) course.MAH-B.Ed. CET 2024 Features
The CET will only be conducted via online mode. There is only one paper of 100 marks with the following 3 sections- Mental Ability (40 marks), General Knowledge (30 marks), and Teacher Aptitude (30 marks). All sections have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with one mark awarded for a correct answer, and no negative marking for an incorrect answer. The test will be of 90 minutes, with English and Marathi as the medium.
For the MAH-B.Ed. English Language Content Test (ELCT)-2024, the test of 50 marks with MCQs is in English medium only of one-hour duration. This test will cover 7 topics- Reading Comprehension (20 marks), Vocabulary (5 marks), Grammar (5 marks), Sentence Formation (7 marks), Phonetics (3 marks), Verbal idioms and proverbs (5 marks), and Figures of Speech (2 marks). One mark will be awarded for a correct answer and no negative marking for an incorrect answer.
At the Test Centre you need to bring the Hall ticket with your photo affixed, a valid Photo ID card in original, original documentary proof if there is a change in name and one ballpoint pen. Make sure that you report to the test centre well in advance, at least two to three hours early for all the verification processes.
