The Sarojini Damodaran Foundation is offering scholarships to physically challenged students from low-income families who are pursuing a graduate course in college. Known as the V-Able Vidyadhan Scholarship program, meritorious students are selected through a test and an interview. Thousands of students from across the country have greatly benefited from this scholarship program in the past years.
V-Able Scholarship Features
The scholarship is offered for two years after completion of 10th grade/SSLC. Based on your academic performance, you will be offered a scholarship for pursuing any degree course of your interest. As part of the scholarship program, you must attend a mentoring program as and when scheduled by the Foundation.
Scholarship Amount: The amount for graduation courses varies from Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 75,000/- per year with the amount awarded based on the degree course, duration, and State.
Application Fee: There is no application fee to apply for the scholarship, Hence, you should not pay anyone who claims to be an authorized person of the Foundation and demands a fee to apply for or to get the scholarship.
Selection Process: The information provided in the application form and academic performance will determine whether or not you are shortlisted for the scholarship. If you are shortlisted, then you will need to appear for a short screening test (likely to be an online test) and subsequently may have to attend an interview as well.
V-Able Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
Physically challenged students with a disability of 40% are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Other eligibility criteria are-
Family income: Your family's annual income should be less than Rs. 4 lakhs.
Class 12 score and Degree Course: You should have joined the Degree course in the year 2022, and secured 60% or obtained 6 CGPA in the Class 12/HSC exam. V-Able Scholarship Application procedure
You have to register and apply online at the Vidyadhan Scholarship registration portal with a personal email ID and password, and select the appropriate scholarship program.
If you do not have a personal email ID, then create one, as email IDs of anyone else or the email ID of a cyber café would not be advisable, since all communications between you and the Foundation will be through the registered email ID only. During the registration process, ensure that you enter your first name and last name exactly as it appears in your educational records.
Once you fill in the basic details, you should click on the 'Apply Now' button, upon which you will receive an account activation link in the email that you provided for registration. Then you need to click on the activation link and proceed further to apply. You can go through the instructions for the application process under the 'Help' Tab of the main menu.
On completing the application, you can make changes through the edit button in case you find any errors. Once you have finished, click on the 'Submit' button. Note that the application will be considered complete only after the relevant documents and the photo have been uploaded.

The screening test is scheduled for 11th February 2024.
