KCET 2024 online applications open


In this article, details have been provided about the KCET, the Karnataka Common Entrance Test for the year 2024-2025. Candidates who did not apply for KCET exam, can again apply. Information on the date of examination, application form, registration, age limit etc has been given.

The Karnataka Exam Authority has recently issued a notification about the entrance exam to seek admission in the fields of engineering, veterinary science, and farm science. The candidates should visit the official site of KCET to learn details such as eligibility, exam date, application procedure, etc.

Eligibility criteria

Qualification

The candidates applying for B.Tech. or engineering should pass 10+2 or any other equivalent exam from any recognized university. They should score a minimum of 45% in the relevant subjects in the 12th exam, and if they belong to SC or ST, the minimum score is 40%. The major subjects for 12th should be physics and mathematics, along with subjects such as chemistry/biology, biotechnology, or English. Candidates appearing for the 12th exam may also apply.

Candidates aspiring to study a B.Arch degree should have passed 10 + 2 from any recognized board or should have a diploma degree in architecture from any recognized institute. Their major subjects in 12th grade should be chemistry, physics, and arithmetic. They should also possess a valid rating card for NATA 2024. If you are appearing for 12th this year, even then you can apply.

If the student wants to study B.Pharma further, then you should have passed 10+2 or a diploma in pharmacy for three years. The aggregate score in 12th should be a minimum of 45%, and if belonging to a reserved class, then the minimum score should be 40%. The major subjects chosen in 12th should be physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics.

Students aspiring to study veterinary science should have a minimum of 10+2 from any recognized board or university. The minimum score should be 50% in the 12th and 40% in the reserved category. Their major subjects in 12th grade should be physics, chemistry, biology, and English. Even students appearing in 12th grade this year can apply.

Other Requirements

Any student who wants to apply for KCET should be an Indian citizen, have a domicile in Karnataka, or have passed 10th and 12th grade from a school or institution located in Karnataka.

How to Apply for the KCET 2024

The candidates should visit the official site at https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/
Then, you can find sliding letters in Kannada and click the link.
Then, you are directed to a new webpage.
Then you can find an option "Proceed to log in for new registrations'. Then you can enter credentials to register your name.
The details are sent to your e-mail ID and when you log in next time, use these credentials.
Next, you log in to your account.
Now you are redirected to a new webpage, and hence you can enter the required information, such as qualification details, documents such as ID proof, address proof, marksheets for 10th and 12th grade, certificates from schools and institutions, caste certificates, disability certificates if applicable, etc.
Then proceed to payment to pay the prescribed fees. The candidates belonging to the general category (2A, 2B, 3A, or 3B) should pay Rs. 500, and those belonging to the SC/ST category (CAT-1) should pay Rs. 250. If you have completed 10+2 outside Karnataka, then you should pay Rs. 750.

Exam Pattern

The examination is conducted in 3 sessions, namely Session 1, Session 2, and Session 3. The first session is mathematics, followed by physics in the second session, and chemistry in the third session. Each paper consists of 60 questions, and 1 mark is awarded if the candidate answers correctly. Marks are not deducted for incorrect answers.
