NEET UG 2024- NTA registrations open to apply online for Medical College Admissions

The NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is an entrance examination conducted at the national level exclusively for admissions to MBBS, BDS, and other medical courses in various government and private medical colleges throughout the country. As a part of the policy called, "One Nation One Examination" by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the NEET exam was introduced in 2020 at the undergraduate level in medicine. The National Testing Agency has been solely responsible for carrying out the NEET and providing the results to the Directorate General of Health Services, an organization under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Based on the results released by the NTA, admissions are offered to various UG courses, such as B.S.M.S., BAMS, BUMS, etc., other than MBBS, BDS, B.Sc. Nursing in medical colleges across the nation.
The NTA began the registration process on February 9 to apply online for the NEET UG 2024 exam, which will be conducted on May 5, 2024. The exam is conducted offline and in languages like English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Age: The NEET aspirant must complete 17 years as an age criterion, or he/she is born on or before 31/12/2007 at the time of admission to the UG medical course and no upper age limit is mentioned.
Academics: The applicants must have qualified Class 12 examination from an accredited State/CBSE/ICSE/IB board with Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and English as core subjects.
NRI/Overseas Citizens of India (OCI)/Foreign Nationals (FN) are also eligible to apply for the NEET UG test for admission in medical and dental colleges in India subject to fulfilling the criteria by the respective institutions, state governments, and the Government of India as per the rules and regulations. They must upload a certificate as proof of document from the respective Indian Diplomatic Mission of their country of residence claiming as an NRI/OCI/FN candidate along with their online application form for the entrance test. The candidates applying for the NEET are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of INR 1700 for the general category, INR 1600 for general-EWS/ OBC-NCL, and INR 1000 for SC/ST/PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disability)/Third gender.Registration Process
Before applying for the NEET UG test, the aspirants need to create a valid email ID and mobile number. He/she must register for the online application form provide personal details with the system-generated application number and create a password by choosing a security question and answer through the official website. This application number and password are mandatory for future correspondence. Subsequently, the applicant may log in directly with the system-generated application number and the password created through the registration process.Application Process
The candidates may complete the application form with the login application number and the password created earlier. They need to fill up the personal credentials, educational qualifications, reservation quota if any, choice of question paper medium of language, and test center and upload the scanned images of photographs and required documents. After completing the application, they need to save, submit, pay the fees, and download the application form for further correspondence. Documents Required
Important note regarding photographs: The candidates should get their photographs with 80% of the face and the ears visible clearly without masks. It is suggested that they need to take at least 6-8 numbers of passport-sized and 4-6 postcard-sized (4" X6") coloured photographs with the background being white. These photographs are required to be uploaded online along with the application form, at the time of examination, counselling session, and admission. The same photograph should be used for all documents/purposes throughout the NEET UG exam and admission.

Some important updates-
Firstly, the happy news is that, on receiving requests from students, the registration for the receipt of the online application forms for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (UG)- 2024 has been extended. The last date for receiving the NEET (UG)– 2024 online application forms is 16th March 2024 up to 10:50 p.m. The last date for receiving the fees online has also been extended to 16th March 2024 up to 11:50 p.m.
Secondly, after getting feedback from various stakeholders, as per the official directives issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the National Medical Commission, all the changes proposed in NEET (UG) – 2024 have been deferred for the current year. As per the official website, "There will be no changes in the terms and conditions except for the syllabus in comparison to the NEET (UG)2023."
