The Office of the Executive Director, Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) Conservation Foundation, Chandrapur District, Maharashtra invites applications from individuals keen to work in the field of wildlife conservation to enroll for a summer internship. Both students and professionals are welcome to apply for the two-month internship. The location of the summer internship is the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve, which is the State's largest and oldest National Park and is home to varied wildlife. While prior experience in the relevant field is preferred, a deserving fresher with relevant skills can also apply.

Important to know: This summer internship is on a contractual basis and temporary with work assigned as per your area of interest (see areas of work below) and the requirements of the TATR Conservation Foundation. Up to two interns will be selected for each area of work. You will not be allowed to share, use, or publish the information obtained during your tenure as an intern at TATR without prior written permission.
Summer Internship Features
Duration: You will work as an intern with the TATR Conservation Foundation for approximately two months, starting from 1st May 2024 till 30th June 2024.
Stipend and Accommodation: You will not receive any remuneration, that is, no salary or stipend will be provided. However, provisions will be made for basic food and accommodation facilities.
Certificate: On completing the internship, you will receive an official work experience/certificate of appreciation.Areas of Work
Ecology and Botany: You will work on monitoring wildlife and surveying their habitats, maintaining documents such as a People-Biodiversity Register, etc.
Sociology: You will study the impacts of tourism and livelihood, as well as the socio-economics of local communities and rehabilitated villages of the TATR.

Alternate Livelihoods: You will work on the development of alternative livelihood programs for communities who stay in areas around the tiger reserve.
Media/Communication/Videography/Drones: Your areas of work will be related to social media, storytelling and documentation of TATR's best practices, wildlife conservation, etc.
Artificial Intelligence: You will use AI technology to monitor and mitigate man-animal conflicts.
Geographic information system (GIS) and Remote Sensing: You will conduct surveys and prepare a variety of maps.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Your role will be to draw in CSR for various conservation and community development programs in and around the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve.
Eligibility Requirements
Age criterion
Individuals who are 21 to 30 years of age can enroll for the internship.General fitness
Since the internship will involve a lot of activities on the field, you are expected to be physically fit to undertake the duties assigned to you as an intern.Experience and Skills
These are specific to the area of work, namely-
Ecology and Botany: You should be knowledgeable about flora & fauna, can do statistical analysis, and use Density-distance software. Some prior experience with similar research areas would be required as well.
Sociology: You must have strong interpersonal skills with experience in the areas of social/ethnographic research & analysis, and the ability to think critically.
Alternative Livelihoods: You must have excellent interpersonal skills, with Marathi communication skills mandatory. You should be familiar with research methodologies, and experience in designing a program that is practical and scalable. You should have work experience with marginalized communities and/or living in and around wildlife reserves.
Media/Communication/Videography/Drones: You must have excellent communication, writing, and editing skills in English and Marathi. You should know about social media management with experience in wildlife conservation. You should have proficiency in using a camera and drone, especially for wildlife documentation and storytelling.
Artificial Intelligence: You must be proficient in AI, Machine learning, and doing data analytical work.
GIS and Remote Sensing: You should be familiar with using software like Quantum Geographic Information System (QGIS), Aeronautical Reconnaissance Coverage Geographic Information System (ArcGIS), and Google Earth Engine used for geospatial processing.
CSR: You must have the relevant educational qualifications and experience in the areas of management and business administration. Some earlier professional work experience specific to the CSR sector/corporate communication field will be preferred.Application procedure
