Re-Registration Online Process for 2024-25 RTE Maharashtra Admissions in Mumbai, other Cities

Did you know that parents have to register again for 2024-25 RTE admissions to schools in Mumbai and other Districts of Maharashtra? This is because private schools are now included in the RTE admission process. Details of the eligibility requirements, the number of RTE vacancies in Districts across Maharashtra, and the online re-registration process have been provided.

When the Govt. of Maharashtra exempted private schools from the admission process for the Right to Education (RTE) quota, there were voices of dissent against it. Subsequently, as per the ruling of the Honorable Bombay High Court, the exemption had been stayed. Hence now parents have to restart the online application process with a fresh online registration with the re-launch of the RTE admission process. This new admission process has started on 17th May 2024 which requires all previous applicants to re-register as earlier applications will not be accepted.

You have to register and apply through the link given under 'New Registration Form for Academic Year: 2024-2025' (the image is shown at the start of this article)

First, though, it is essential to read the User Manual and go through the FAQs before starting the re-registration process. You can also go through the complete list of schools in each District of the State of Maharashtra, with the Class-wise number of RTE seats which are available in each and the age criteria for the specific classes in that school. Ensure that you select the school and enter the Class to which admission is sought correctly. In the online re-registration process, you can select up to a maximum of 10 schools.

Personal details: Select the District and enter the child's name and date of birth. Once the date of birth is entered, it cannot be changed at a later stage, hence make sure that you put it in correctly. Next, Select 'Yes' or 'No' as applicable for the query 'Child Disability?'. Finally, enter the mobile number and the Captcha, then click the 'Register' button.

After re-registration: You can log in through 'User Login for 2024-2025' with the given username and password and complete the online application form for Maharashtra RTE admissions 2024-25.

Selecting the School : When selecting the school, you must select one that is within a distance of 1km from your place of residence and not beyond 3 km of your place of residence. When the allocation process takes place, priority will be given to a school within 1 km, and then further, up to 3kms. In case you do not get a seat in a nearby school, you will be required to make arrangements to drop off and pick up your child from the school or pay the required school bus fee if the school provides a bus facility. To ensure that you do not select the wrong school in terms of distance, the website has the Google location feature, wherein you enter the address, and it will indicate the latitude and longitude to give you the accurate location.

It is important to note that only one application is permitted for one child. More than one application will result in all applications getting rejected. Also, it is best to keep all relevant documents ready for entering the details in the online form. The original documents and photocopies will be required at the time of the admission process at the allotted school.
