National Institute of Technology, Rourkela is a reputed institute located in Odisha, It is one of the premier national-level institutions for technical education in the country and is funded by the Government of India. The Government of India has elevated the Regional Engineering College, Rourkela to a university under the name of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela Institute. It offers various UG, PG, and research programmes to the students, such as B.Tech, B.Des, B.Arch, B.Sc., MBA, M.Tech, M.Des, M.Sc., etc. They are inviting applications from students who wish to study the M.A. in development studies programme for the academic session 2024–2026.
Availability of Seats
There are a total of 39 seats available for the course. Among these 39 seats, 14 seats are available for General category students, 10 for OBC category, 6 for SC category, 3 for ST, 2 for PH and 4 for EWS category candidates.Eligibility criteria
Candidates should have passed B. Tech, BA, B.Sc, and B.Com with at least 50% aggregate marks or 5.5 CGPA. Candidates with an Honors degree will be given preference. Candidates appearing or yet to appear in the qualifying degree final examinations can also applyApplication procedure
You can apply online through Official website NIT Rourkela for admission to the Master's program. You need to register online with a valid email ID and details after completion of registration login details will be sent to the email ID. You need to fill in the application by using the login ID and password sent to you. After filling in all the details you need to make the payment of the refundable fee of 500/-through the SBI collect only. After completion of payment, a receipt will be generated.
NIT Rourkela offers a 'Slow Pace Programme' for students who are employed in Government or private institutions and cannot join full-time programmes. Under the slow pace programme, a student will be registered for half the courses in a semester and will take 4 semesters to complete the coursework, and up to 4 years to complete the full programme. In case a student completes 8 semesters with a few F grades or has a course CGPA less than 6.00, he must leave the Institute without obtaining a degree.Documents to be uploaded
Selection Procedure
NIT Rourkela provides admissions to MA Development Studies based on academic merit in the university examinations already completed. Candidates who fulfil the above-mentioned eligibility criteria will only be eligible for further admission process. A list of selected candidates will be displayed on the institute's website.
