The initial modules will give you an understanding of the salient features of products, how they should be pitched to a customer, personal financial planning, etc. The second part concerns what goes into a policy document, such as risks, inclusions and exclusions, etc., and the claims settlement process.
Who can apply: Graduates and Postgraduates. Individuals who are working in insurance companies as well as freshers can apply.
Duration: 4 months of self-study, with three days of contact through online classes (18 hours in total) that will primarily be to answer queries about the course curriculum. You will receive the relevant study material as a soft copy. You have to submit assignments within a given time frame and appear for an exam at the end of the course, with the questions in the format of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

Advanced Certificate Course in Health Insurance – Virtual (ACHIV)
Focusing on health insurance, this course is conducted through virtual classroom mode from the College of Insurance, Mumbai to enable participants to join in from wherever they are located. There are five modules- Principles of Insurance and Health Insurance Contracts; Business Environment, Health Insurance Practices and Documentation; Health Insurance Underwriting, Terms, Conditions and Pricing; Health Insurance Marketing and Operations; and Health Insurance Claims Management.
Who can apply: Graduates and Postgraduates. Individuals who are working in insurance companies as well as freshers can apply.
Duration: 4 months in online mode with 90 hours of teaching through three-hour sessions scheduled only on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays). The final exam at the end of the course will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

General Insurance Certificate Course
This course is ideal for those keen to start out in the non-life insurance practice. In addition to the fundamental concepts of insurance, such as insurance contracts, claim procedures, etc. you will learn about fire and allied perils, mega risk policies, motor and marine insurance, insurance for theft, travel, banker's indemnity, etc. HR and leadership skills will be part of the learning modules too, and you will be working on case studies and projects to give you first-hand knowledge of what you learn in this certificate course.
Who can apply: Fresh graduates/Postgraduates, Personnel of Broking companies and insurance companies, as well as Freelancers.
Duration: 3 months through virtual classroom mode from the College of Insurance, Kolkata with 100 hours of teaching only on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays).

Start date: 20th July 2024.Investigation and Fraud Detection in Life Insurance Certificate Course
This course is a specialized course dealing with frauds that arise in insurance cases and is ideal for those working in the Claims departments, Fraud units, and audit sections of an organization. The goal is to develop professional competency in investigating fraud, especially gathering relevant evidence, and writing up detailed reports that would stand up in a Court of Law, a Consumer Forum and the like. Key modules include learning about Section 45 of the Insurance Act, understanding the medical point of view of a health insurance fraud, challenges you face when investigating a fraudulent claim, using technological tools such as digital analytics in the investigative process, forensic analysis in Life Insurance frauds, and putting everything together in a coherent report along with evidence.
Duration 3 days to be conducted in virtual mode through the College of Insurance, Mumbai over 15 hours. The exam at the end of the course will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
