The Sarojini Damodaran Foundation offers scholarships for higher studies to meritorious students from economically disadvantaged families. As of now, eligible students from 20 States/Union Terrotories can apply for these scholarships directly on the Foundation's website and there are no fees for registration or application. However, applicants from one State cannot apply for scholarships of other States/UTs.Scholarship Features
The scholarship is offered for two years and if you maintain a good academic record in Class 11 and 12, the scholarship may be continued to pursue a Degree course. The scholarship amount is given either by the Sarojini Damodaran Foundation or by sponsors, the amount varying from Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 75,000/- per year. The amount depends on the course duration, the course type, the State in which it is offered, and other parameters.
Who can apply
Educational Qualification: You should have completed Class 10/SSLC/required qualifying exam with the minimum percentage/CGPA as per the norms of the State. Note that since it is a State-wise scholarship, for each State you will be required to have cleared the qualifying exam of that particular State in the current academic year.
States/UTs: The scholarships are offered only in these States/Union Territories- Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Ladakh, Maharashtra, New Delhi, Odisha, Punjab, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh.
Family Income: This varies from State to State.
Selection Process: The Foundation will scrutinize the applications, and if you are shortlisted based on your academic performance and the details provided in the application form, you will be called for a screening test/short online test/interview. The exact date and location will be intimated to you.
State-wise Details of Vidhyadhan SDF Scholarships
The details of the scholarship offered in various States, eligibility criteria, and schedule are provided here (for some States, the applications for this year have already closed)-
For Delhi: The scholarship amount for 11th and 12th Grade will be a maximum of Rs. 10,000/- per year.
Family income: Should be less than Rs. 2 lakhs. Essential: Scored 80% or obtained 8 CGPA (for a student with a disability, the cut-off mark is 70% or 6 CGPA) in the qualifying exam.
Schedule for this year: Applications will close on 30th July 2024, the screening test will be on 11th August, and the test/interview will be held from 16th August up to 30th August 2024.

For Goa: The scholarship amount for 11th and 12th Grade will be a maximum of Rs. 10,000/- per year.
Family income: Should be less than Rs. 4 Lakhs. Essential: Scored 75% or obtained 7 CGPA (for a student with a disability, the cut-off mark is 60% or 6 CGPA) in the qualifying exam.
Schedule for this year: Applications will close on 20th July 2024, the screening test will be on 11th August, and the test/interview will be held from 24th August up to 13th September 2024.

For Gujarat: The scholarship amount for 11th and 12th Grade will be a maximum of Rs. 10,000/- per year.

For Haryana and Chandigarh: The scholarship amount for Classes 11th and 12th will be a maximum of Rs. 10,000/- per year.
Family income: Should be less than Rs. 2 lakhs. Essential- Scored 80% or obtained 8 CGPA in the qualifying exam (for a student with a disability, the cut-off mark is 70%).
Schedule for this year: Applications will close on 30th August 2024, the screening test will be on 8th September 2024, and the test/interview will be held from 13th September up to 28th September 2024.

For Himachal Pradesh: The scholarship amount for Classes 11th and 12th will be a maximum of Rs. 10,000/- per year.
Family income: Should be less than Rs. 2 lakhs. Essential: Scored 75% or obtained 7.5 CGPA in the qualifying exam (for a student with a disability, the cut-off mark is 65% or 6.5 CGPA).
Schedule for this year: Applications will close on 20th July 2024, the screening test will be on 28th July 2024, and the test/interview will be held from 5th August to 20th August 2024.

For Jharkhand: The scholarship amount for 11th and 12th Grade will be a maximum of Rs. 10,000/- per year.
Family income: Should be less than Rs. 2 lakhs. Essential: Scored 75% or obtained 7.5 CGPA in the qualifying exam (for a student with a disability, the cut-off mark is 60%).
Schedule for this year: Applications will close on 27th July 2024, the screening test is on 18th August 2024, and the test/interview will be held from 31st August up to 10th September 2024.

For Ladakh: The scholarship amount for 11th and 12th Standard will be a maximum of Rs. 10,000/- per year.
Family income: Should be less than Rs. 2 lakhs. Essential: Should have scored 60% or obtained 6 CGPA in the qualifying exam (for a student with a disability, the cut-off mark is 55%).
Schedule for this year: Applications close on 31st July 2024, the screening test is on 18th August, and the test/interview is from 31st August up to 15th September 2024.
There is also a scholarship offered under the Students' Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh (SECMOL) program for Class 11 with the scholarship amount of a maximum of Rs. 30,000/- per year. The applicants will be shortlisted by the Foundation based on the SECMOL reference and the information provided in the application form.
Family income: Should be less than Rs. 1 lakh. Essential: Should score 50% or obtained 5 CGPA in the qualifying exam.
Schedule for this year: Applications close on 31st July 2024, with the interview/tests from 5th October to 20th October 2024.

For Maharashtra: The scholarship amount for 11th and 12th Standard will be a maximum of Rs. 10,000/- per year.
Family income: Should be less than Rs. 2 lakhs. Essential: Should have scored 85% or obtained 9 CGPA in the qualifying exam (for a student with a disability, the cut-off mark is 75%).

Applications for all States should be submitted online only on the official website https://www.vidyadhan.org/apply
You need to register and apply with your personal email ID, and not with someone else's email ID or with the email ID of a cyber café. When filling in your name and surname, ensure that these are the same as on your educational records. Once you log in, you will get access to the 'Help' menu which will have detailed instructions on the online application process. After filling in the information on the online application form, you can use the Edit button to make changes if required.
