The Urdu IAS Study Centre, Lucknow is a Govt. established center offering free coaching for Civil Services and Competitive Exams under the aegis of the Uttar Pradesh Urdu Akademi.
The Centre has announced admissions open for minority students from all over India for free coaching to prepare for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS)/ Provincial Civil Service (PCS) Pre-cum-Mains. Students will be given free coaching to prepare for the Prelims and those who qualify the Prelims exam will be permitted to continue to get free coaching for the Main exam. Admission to the coaching will strictly be given based on the scores in an entrance exam.Urdu IAS Study Centre Features
Number of Seats: There are 90 seats out of which 50 seats are for male candidates and 15 are for female candidates, to be filled in through the entrance exam. The rest of the seats will be filled in by candidates who have qualified the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Exam (UPSC CSE)/ Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC)/ other State Provincial Civil Service (PCS) Prelims exams in 2023 and 2024. These candidates will get direct admission and do not have to appear for the entrance exam.
Coaching Fees: Those enrolled for the coaching program do not have to pay any fees for the coaching, and will be provided with free lodging and food (outside food is not permitted). Access will be given to Wi-Fi facilities on campus, the computer lab, the library, and other campus facilities.
Note that a caution money of Rs. 5000/- must be deposited at admission. This amount will be refunded once the coaching program is completed. However, students who show no interest in their studies, misuse equipment or are indisciplined in any way will not be permitted to continue and their caution money will not be returned.
Coaching Faculty: Qualified and competent faculty will teach the students in English, Hindi, and Urdu medium.
Attendance: Students enrolled in the coaching program must give 100% attendance and after a review every two months if attendance drops to less than 90%, the student will be expelled from the center.
Application Fee
There is an application fee of Rs. 500/- which can be paid online through the IOB Pay facility of Indian Overseas Bank. In case of any problems in making the payment online, you can send the fee through a Demand Draft (DD) in favour of the Secretary, Uttar Pradesh Urdu Akademi and upload a scanned copy of the DD in place of the fee receipt when making the online application.Eligibility Requirements
Who can apply: You can apply only if you are a student of any of these minority communities- Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Parsi, Jain, and Buddhist. You should not have taken guidance earlier from the Urdu IAS Study Centre, Lucknow, nor availed of any coaching facility from any other government institution. You should not be associated with any governmental educational institutions either on a full-time basis or part-time basis. Govt., Semi-Govt., and NGO employees are not permitted to apply.
Age criterion: The minimum age is 21 years, and the maximum age is 32 years as of 31st March 2024.
Educational Qualifications: You should have completed Graduation.Application Procedure
You have to register at the Urdu IAS Study Center admissions portal
Ensure that you fill out the form completely, including the date of birth, qualifications, and contact details, and do not leave any blanks.
Before starting the online registration process, go through the prospectus and instructions given, and scan and keep ready the following documents which you need to upload-
Photo: You have to upload a recent passport-size colour photo on a plain white or off-white background (3.5 cm Width x 4.5 cm Height). The photo should have been taken in the last 6 months (read the instructions about the specifics of the photo required). The photo must be in JPEG format, maximum 50 KB file size, and a minimum resolution (DPI) of 200.
Signature (6.5 cm Width x 2 cm Height): This should be with a black ballpoint pen in color mode in JPEG format, not over 50 KB in size and minimum resolution (DPI) of 200.
Fee Receipt: The image of the Fee Receipt should be in compressed JPEG/JPG format in 100 DPI, and not exceeding 100KB in size.
After you have filled out your registration form, click the submit button. Then pay the application fee online through the IOB Pay facility of Indian Overseas Bank. Once the payment is made, upload a copy of the online fee receipt on the admission portal of the website (click on "Upload Fee Receipt - Login"). Once the receipt is uploaded, you will have completed the registration process.
The next step is to send a hard copy of the application form along with self-attested photocopies of all the relevant certificates and mark sheets of all Board exams, and a copy of the online payment receipt to The Director, Urdu IAS Study Center, Mohaan Road, Para, Lucknow-226017. Entrance Exam
The entrance test for admission will be held in Lucknow/Delhi/Prayagraj. There are two papers with a total of 250 marks with three hours given for the complete test.
Paper I (Two-hour duration): There are 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with 80 questions from General Studies in the fields of History, Geography, Economics, Science, Environment, Current Affairs, and Polity. 20 questions will be a Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) in Maths, Reasoning, and English Comprehension. Two marks will be awarded for each correct answer, and 0.667 marks will be deducted for an incorrect answer.
Paper 2 (One-hour duration): Essay of 50 marks on a given topic. It can be written in English or Hindi or Urdu medium.

You have to report to the Urdu IAS Study Centre, Lucknow with your parents (at least one parent should be present) or Guardian, otherwise the admission will be cancelled. The last date to submit the online form is 20th August 2024.
The last date for receipt of the hard copy is 25th August 2024.
Entrance Exam Dates-
The entrance exam is scheduled for 8th September 2024.
The result of the entrance exam will be displayed on the official website and the Notice Board of the study centre on 25th September 2024.
Post-completion of Admission Processes-
The Counselling sessions of admission will be held on 3rd and 4th October 2024.
