Free Online Database of Indian Ph D Theses from INFLIBNET / UGC


This article is a free online database on the internet of all of the Indian PhD theses. The theses are available from Information and Library Network Centre also known as INFLIBNET. Also read to know about how to add your Thesis if it is not present in the Free online database.

INFLIBNET (Information and Library Network Centre) is an autonomous Inter-University Centre of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Govt. of India. INFLIBNET is involved in modernizing and automating university libraries in India and the optimum utilization of information. INFLIBNET is set out to be a major player in promoting scholarly communication among academicians and researchers in India.

Development of Union databases of Indian University Libraries is one of the major activities of INFLIBNET. One of the important Database developed by INFLIBNET is THESES Database, which is available online (free) at http://www.inflibnet.ac.in. Theses database of INFLIBNET has over one and half lakh records of the doctoral dissertations submitted to the Indian universities in all disiplines.The bibliographical details like researcher, title of the thesis, guides), university name, department name, subjects), year of award etc are provided. This is the only one online tool available to find out the research out put of Indian Universities. This data has been contributed by the universities and does not cover the abstracts at present.

If you have done your Ph D and the record is not available in this database, you are requested to send the details and one page abstract of your Ph D theses with a covering letter from your research guide/principal/head of institution to the following address. If your record is available in this database, you are requested to send an one page abstract of your Ph D thesis to the following address.
