About college:
Birla college is one of the top college of Mumbai. It is located at kalyan (w) in thane district. It was established in 1972 by the dedicated efforts of Kalyan Charity Trust and Kalyan Citizens Education Society which was founded in 1971. The aim of the college is to be a premier institution of higher education, an inspiring Nodal Center, catering to the diverse needs of student fraternity, providing them state-of -the-art facilities and a stimulating teaching-learning environment, to groom them into socially responsible, excellent human resource.
Location:
Birla College is located in prime locality of kalyan west(54km from Mumbai). The distance from kalyan station to birla college is 3km. There is good facility of autos and buses for travelling from kalyan station to birla college.
Infrastructure and facilities:
The college campus is spread over 20 acres in the prime locality of kalyan city. The college have enrollment of more than 8500 students. It has three main building separated by the huge library. It has two seminar halls with the facilities of audio-video facility. It have well established class rooms and labs for each department in each building of the college.
Achievements:
The college was accredited by NAAC with a 5 star status in 2002. It have re-accredited by NAAC with A Grade (CGPA - 3.37). The college has been awarded for College with Potential for Excellence by UGC in 2010, best College Award by the University of Mumbai in 2008-09 and IMC RBNQ Performance Excellence Trophy-2011 in Education.

In birla college, all the teachers are experienced and possess a good quality of teaching. The teachers are friendly in nature they always encourage and motivate the students for achieving personal as well as career growth in their future. They are a good counselor to the students for helping in every type of problem. They play an important role in encouraging student to take part in co-curricular activities.
Training and placement:
College is providing good facility of training and placement cell. The related faculty plays very important role in conducting career oriented seminars, workshops in which they invited reputed visiting faculty to give the guidance to the students. Placement cell invited reputed companies like Wipro, etc and executed campus interviews for final year students.
Conclusion:
I will recommend this college to my friends because this college has good infrastructure, various facilities and good quality teaching. There are various opportunities of co-curricular activities for the students and showing the hidden talent of the them.
