This is oldest and one of the best engineering college in Orissa.With a remarkable history of more than 53 years,it achieved state university status in the year 2009.Alumni of this institute are placed very high in leading govt organizations.Electrical engineering department of this institute has a best ranking of 2nd in all India ranking.labs of this department is counted among one of the best in India.
For the year 2009 it is being the first choice for the students getting admission through state Joint Entrance Examination.
This is a college where you will find guys with a lots of emotion towards the college and friends.They love to be here and like spending time with friends.The emotion of the students towards college was at its top during the strike,that was demanding the university grant and raised voice against the continuous negligence of state government.The strike continued for two months and was incredibly successful with no violence.
This college is blessed with a beautiful natural environment.
Students funnily call it "HOME AWAY FROM HOME".
This is something i like best about this college.
