Doranda College is one of the oldest colleges located in Ranchi. It was built in 1962. It has been counted in top 10 Colleges in Ranchi. This college is co- educational institute which offers quality education in all the three streams- arts, science and commerce, and is located in Doranda just opposite to a park in Doranda. It is a Ranchi University affiliated college and also facilitate the relationship between higher education and society.
Let you know that the college has been funded by Ministry of HRD, Govt. of Jharkhand and grants by UGC, New Delhi, India. The college building is very beautiful. It is very old and prestigious college not only in Ranchi but in Jharkhand. Well, the college has 55 faculties, 19 officials and 22 Grade IV Staff. They offer the major faculties of Arts, Commerce, Science and Vocational Courses which includes BBA, BCA, IT, TTM & OMSP to provide job-oriented courses to the students. Arts and Commerce stream is very good.
The teachers are nice and are very helpful to their students of Doranda College. The location is very easily accessible. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited within the College premises. A very positive aspect of the college atmosphere is that it gives every student their own place, letting them grow into the person they want to and can be...:-)
Near to the college is the Doranda market which is very popular among students. The restro called Rasik Lal is very famous and the hot favourite spots for foodies.
The cafeteria or canteen, lovers point and the common room are the perpetual haunts of Doranda students. They offer a variety of quality food & beverages at competitive rates.The college is also famous for its secret addas you wont find it though.
Here you can see many tribals students and general too together studying and enjoying. The students and the teachers all are very good, intelligent and teachers behave very friendly with their students. Teachers are very talented and understanding. They are all devoted to their work so seriously that they are always available for their students. Academic level of the college is very good.
There are many shops, departmental store, branded retail shops and fancy store for accessories, bags, footwear, apparels and books store, etc near by. Well, the College has well-equipped and well-managed Computer Laboratories, Library and common room. The machines and programmes are continuously upgraded to ensure the market relevance of acquired skills. Internet facility is now available in Library, Computer Lab & Office and Staff Room as well. Also, Internet facility is now available for students inside the library.
Students are issued a library cards without which no one can issue a book. The library is very big and consists of almost all the books. The students come here for books and study very cooly. The college ground is very big and spacious. There are all the sports activities common and students participate with great energy. They organize various functions and celebrates all the festivals in the college, not only freshers but all get indulge in it and celebrate it with great fun.
