Sainik School, Korukonda, Vizianagaram Review Sainik School is the brain Child of our first Prime Minister Late Sri Jawahar Lal Nehru. The only motive of these schools is to make physically strong and mentally tough Officers for Indian Arm Forces. The school is a boarding school. The nature and atmosphere is pleasant as it is surrounded by many trees. The school campus and building was donated by the then Raja of Vizianagaram. It is situated 9 km away from VIzianagarm railway station. Many state run bus transportation is available. We can find the faculty in the school are national awardees. The school is headed by a senior Officer not less than the rank of Captain(IN) or an equivalent rank in other two forces as The Principal, and two officers assists him as one Head Master and the other registrar. The entry in to the school is from VI Class and also in IX class based on a high level entrance test which is conducted every year in the month of January. Selection is strictly based on Physical and a medical test on qualifying entrance test hence filtering ill healthy students as the school routine is little hard. One has to give an undertaking to school before admission in to the school that he will join countrys Arm forces on completion of his study in XII class. The School arranges for tutorials for appearing UPSC selection board. Alumni of this school that who could not got through UPSC Exams are there in very high positions in the society. The school has a very big campus and utilizes for ply ground, swimming pool, horse riding, and many other activities. The school is very highly disciplined like defence services. The school conducts many motivational tours to many parts of the country.
