Stella Matutina College of Education, Chennai Review
Stella Matutina College of Education is a valuable and a significant part of Tamilnadu open university to conduct B.Ed courses for in - service training teachers who have 2 years of teaching experience. Selection procedure is purely based on merit through an entrance exam conducted by Tamilnadu open university in the month of October- November. The TNOU selected candidates of about 1000 (500 English medium and 500 tamil medium) for B.Ed course are called for counseling session to Stella Matutina College of Education, Chennai and Stella Matutina College college allots a maximum of 100 students (50 English medium and 50 tamil medium). The rest of 900 seats are being shared by the Program centers distributed all over Tamilnadu namely Madurai, Salem, Trichy, Kanyakumari, Coimbatore etc.
These study centers conduct classes during the summer APR - MAY for in service teachers for about 21 days. It covers all the written work, teaching models preparation, charts, assignments, Group discussions, Commission, Mock presentation, Micro teaching, lesson plans etc, so that the in service teachers learns the teaching skills and most importantly understands the psychology of the student and their needs. Blooms taxonomy of Cognitive, Affective and Psychomotor domain ie HHH Head, Heart and Hand is being effectively implemented.
I too have completed the B.Ed course here and the facilities are excellent. The faculties are extremely cooperative and very understanding. Hostel facility is also available for students.
