Review: Most popular womens college in Ranchi

Review By: Aira    Review Date: 18 Aug 2009    One of the most popular and a huge college in Ranchi where only women study. This college offers various streams like arts, science and commerce. Women can get admission in either of stream. The procedure is simple that is marks basis and also quota. The college building is very nice but not in good condition these days. The building requires more maintenance. There is a big compound and the college is very big and spacious with different categories and blocks. All the streams has different building like arts section, science section and commerce section. Well, comparatively there are many tribal(adivasi) women, SC/ST caste, but nevertheless there are general girls also who come from various city and states to study in this college. The teachers are superb, very talented and experience. The academic level of students depends on the students itself. There are many toppers who passed out from this college and doing a good job in various fields. The college organizes various functions occasionally where women take part in it and competing with other colleges in Ranchi and other city like Nirmala College, Gosner College, St.Xavier Colleges, etc. This college is very old. It has established in the year 1949 but still it is very popular. The college offers the courses like Intermediate Courses, Bachelor Courses, PG Courses, Vocational Courses, B. Ed. Courses and also BBA ( Bachelor in Business Administration) Course. The college hostel is also very huge and of course, the hostel is very strict and disciplined. One of my friends, has passed out from this college and now she is a professor in Karunya University, Coimbatore and I am so glad to hear all these from her. Read complete review

Review By: Rose    Review Date: 03 Oct 2009    Ranchi Womens College is the best college for female candidates, it is situated at Jail road near to kutchery road, there is two separate departments one is for science and commerce block and other near to hari om tower is arts block. Ranchi Womens College was initially affiliated to Patna University and then to Bihar University. Since the inception of Ranchi University in1960 it was affiliated to Ranchi University as its constituent unit. Ranchi Womens College is situated around 13 Acres of land with two separate Campus and play Ground. Five Hostels on the campus accommodate about 300 students of remote villages and far off places. This College aims to develop the all-round development of personality, bring out the latent qualities of the students and urge them to undertake creative activities besides academic growth. It also addresses the employment prospects of the girls to achieve equal opportunity in society. It has been innovating and introducing new courses in response to the demands of the students and the job-market . The college has attempted to keep itself updated in knowledge and skills by combining the traditional subjects in Arts and Science with vocational subjects in the emerging areas such as Biotechnology, Information technology etc. It has strength of about eleven thousand students including PG Students of 8 Subjects, BA, B.Sc., and B.Com. Honours and General students, Five Vocational subjects. B.Ed. Sudents, Students of Distance Education Study Center (Nalanda Open University Study Centre) and IA, I.Sc. & I.Com. students The Institute presently has 205 regular employees-103 Non-Teaching staffs and 102 Teaching Staffs. There are 18 Full Time Contractual Teachers and 28 part Time Guest Teaches. Career awareness and counseling is offered by experts in addition to workshops on preparation of UPSC and other all India competitive examinations. The college does not limit the after-college plans and possibilities to employment alone but also inculcates a spirit of entrepreneurship and self-employment. About two-third of Ranchi University Toppers come from Ranchi Womens College More then 500 students of BA, B.Sc. and B.Com. have been offered high rank jobs of reputed corporate and Multi-National companies of India and abroad that frequently visit college for campus interview for the last four years. True to its motto Tamso Ma Jyotirgtamaya Ranchi Womens College has been lighting the lamp of knowledge in this tribal area. First time i went to this college for appearing my intermediate examination. I was the student of Nirmala college but my exam centre was in this college in Arts Block. I have noticed that most ot the teachers are Ladies and the teachers are very strict. The building was very old but the study is fine. The quality of study is good. and there is a facility of campus selection. Most of the comapanies come to select the students and most of the students are working in MNCs like Wipro, Genpact etc. I have visited bothe blocks the science block as well as Arts block, but as compare to them Arts block is much better in building infrastuctures. Besides college there is a restuarant and shopping malls. So after classes are over students can shop there and enjoy too. As college is situated on the road side there is no problem of taking tempos, and communication. Read complete review

The college building is very big and the color is red. It is one of the oldest college in Ranchi affiliated to Ranchi University. The fees are very affordable to anyone. The area of the college is around 13 Acres of land with two separate Campus and play Ground. The campus is very huge and very spacious. Thousands of people can gather together in the campus. It s so large and also very nice. There are many trees inside the campus. There is a five hostels buildings inside the campus which accommodates about 300 students of remote villages and far off places. This College aims to develop the all-round development of personality, bring out the latent qualities of the students and urge them to undertake creative activities besides academic growth and so keeping this in mind there is always an extra curricular activites and many competitions through out the year in the college. There has been new courses introduces this year in response to the demands of the students and the job-market strategy. The college has also attempted to keep itself updated in knowledge and skills by combining the traditional subjects in Arts and Science with vocational subjects in the emerging areas such as Biotechnology, Information technology, Computer Application, Mass Communication, etc. First time I went to this college for appearing my intermediate examination. My examination centre was Ranchi Womens College. I was the student of Nirmala college but my exam centre was in this college in Arts Block. I have noticed that most of the teachers are Ladies and the teachers are very strict. The college room was average but very spacious. If I compare this with my college then I would definitely say that Nirmala College is the best compare to anything, college building or maintenance, my college always invest on maintenance which I saw lacking in this college. Probably, they will do it in future..:-) saving money...anyways. The building is very old but the study is absolutely good. The academic level of teachers are very good compare to students. The quality of study is very good. Teachers are very experienced and helpful too. There is a facility of campus selection. Most of the companies come to select the students and most of the students are working in MNCs companies too after their studies like Wipro, Genpact etc. I have visited both blocks the Science block as well as Arts block, but as compare to them Arts block is much better in building infrastructures. Also the atmosphere was neat and clean and building is also well maintained. Near to this college, there are many restaurants where you can have fast foods and shopping malls too to hang out with friends. I have seen many students go for shopping or just for enjoyment inside the Malls after their classes are over and enjoy a lot. As college is situated on the road side there is no problem of taking tempos, and there all means of communication are available. Read complete review
