All Saints' College, Nainital Review All Saints College is one of the oldest schools of Nainital and was only one of its kind in Nainital in 1869. The school was established almost 80 years before independence and is still running smoothly in the clement and pleasant environment of Nainital. It is a day boarding-cum-residential school and has classes from standard 1 till standard 12. The school is only for girls.
All Saints College is located on a top of a hill in Nainital at about 2000 metres above sea level and is spread over an area of 30 acres. It is affiliated to ICSE Board and is administered by All Saints College Society.
With approximately 800 students in the school, it gives a balanced dose of studies and extra-curricular activities. The girls of the school have not only excelled in academics but in games as well. The basketball team of this school is amongst the best in Nainital. It is also one of the few schools that encourage and teach gymnastics to girls. Dramatics and extempore are other fields where the school has a high standard.
Although, the medium of instruction is English, Hindi does not suffer a setback. Hindi is a compulsory subject in every class until the subjects become selective in the senior secondary classes. The school strives to bring out the best in the students.
The infra-structure caters to all the basic amenities required to bring up the girls in a balanced environment. The school is equipped with computer and science laboratories, sports facilities and an auditorium. The school also organises educational tours for its students to various parts of India.
All Saints College is divided into two distinct wings classes 1 to 5 form the Junior School while classes 6 to 12 form the Senior School. The academic session, similar to all the schools in the hilly regions, starts from the month of March and ends by the begining of December. Summer Breaks are rather short for about 15 days in the month of June and Winter Vacations are for 3 months owing to the severe cold that envelops Nainital during the winter season.
