Colnol Satsangi Kiran Memorial CSKM School, New Delhi, New Delhi Review
The Colonel Satsangi's Kiran Memorial School is a school in New Delhi which lies among the beautiful hills of the Aravalli Range. The school is spread across about 40 acres of land and has students from all parts of India including Southern India and North-East India. The school also caters to international students from Nepal. The school is located near the famous Chattarpur Mandir in South Delhi.
Lt. Colonel. P. S. Satsangi, VSM, was the founder of the school. After serving as a principal of various schools like Sainik School, Tilaiya, Bihar Yadavindra Public School, Chandigarh and Rotary Public School, Gurgaon, Lt. Col. Satsangi decided to build a school himself and established CSKM in 1986.
The school has classes from nursery to 12 and is affiliated to the CBSE Board of education. The school is divided into 3 distinct sections. The Primary Section for classes nursery to class 5 the Secondary section for classes 6 to 10 and the Senior Secondary section for classes 11 and 12. The admissions are open in all classes according to the vacancies, however, there are many that join this school in class 11. The best part about this school is that it does not accept students according to the marks obtained by the student and the students are given admission according to the time of registration. The school does not send any student empty-handed if there are seat vacant in the school. The CSKM school does not believe only in marks obtained but in education too.
There are 120 Classrooms and Lecture Theatres for the students in the school. The science laboratories are equipped with all the apparatuses needed for the students. The school also has a huge auditorium that is used for dramatics and other felicitation programmes. The school also boasts of an indoor badminton court. There is a huge field for the students in CSKM where the students play all sports ranging from football and cricket to athletics. The school also has a gymnasium with all the modern amenities.
Most of the students of the school are out-station students and stay in the school hostel. The senior students have rooms that can be occupied by three or four students. The Secondary Section stays in the dormitories and box rooms. CSKM has spacious dining halls that provides for all the students living in the hostel. The students can also avail the facilities of a medical inspection room in case of any medical problem while in school.
While the school is co-educational, the girls hostel is in a different part of the school and is completely in a separate building. The girls hostel has its own dormitories for the students in the senior school, while rooms(each shared by two girls) for the students in Senior Secondary. There is also a separate medical inspection room and a dinning hall for girls.
The school provides facilities for preparation for competitive exams like NDA, IIT and PMT.
The CSKM School gives equal importance to academics and sports. The school offers almost all the games to encourage sports and sportsmanship in the students. Athletics, Martial Arts, Skating, Lawn Tennis, Cycling, Squash, Badminton, Table Tennis, Swimming, Basketball, Cricket and Football are some of the major games played in CSKM school. The school also has NCC for its students. The school also provides coaching to students with talent in specific games and invites famous Indian and foreign coaches to the school from time to time to nurture young talent.
