Our Lady Of Good Counsel High School, Mumbai Review Our Lady of Good Counsel High School has got a very unusual location in central Mumbai - it is at the top of a small hillock! Hence the school itself is a well-known landmark in the area.
Although the school is primarily a Catholic Minority Institution set up by the Ronan Catholic Archdiocese of Mumbai, it provides admissions to all communities. At present there are more than 3,500 students. It is a co-ed school with classes up to Std. X. The student-teacher ratio is 45 students-1 teacher ratio. Despite this lopsided ratio, the standards of teaching is extremely high. In fact, the school has a very high academic record of excellence. Discipline, too, is maintained of the highest standards.
The school campus has a large main square & to reach this, students have to climb a good number of steps up the hill! The schools basketball team is very well-coached and has played at the national level. As part of co-curricular activities, the students enroll for activities of social organisations such as the Rotaract Club and the Red Cross. The school also has an N.C.C. program, and on completion of 2 years of this program the students get a certificate.
Admissions: Admissions are through an entrance test. Students below the age of 5 years are not admitted. The academic year begins in mid-June. The monthly fee is approx. Rs.500/-. The first term fee has to be paid in June, and the second term fee has to be paid in November.
