Aditi Mahavidyalaya, Delhi Review Aditi Mahavidyalaya was established recently in 1994 and is affiliated to the University of Delhi. There being very few colleges in the North Western part of New Delhi, the introduction of a new college in the area came as a welcome step for all the students in the vicinity of north-west Delhi. Aditi Mahavidyalaya is strictly a womens college. Started with 239 students in 1994, the number of students has risen dramatically.
Aditi Mahavidyalaya is committed to academic excellence and the values of humanism. The college strives to encourage overall development in the students. Moreover, not only does it believe in quality of education but in the purpose of education. It intends to inculcate a sense of camaraderie in the women of the college.
Extra-Curricular Activities
Societies The college has various societies that help in keeping the students not only glued to books but also improve their inter-personal skills. The societies and committees like Debating Society, Dramatic Society, Environment Committee and Music and Dramatic Society help a lot in grooming the personality of every student. The college is also equipped with a music room with various instruments from Indian classical instruments to western ones.
National Cadet Corps National Cadet Corps has also been set up in the college. NCC through its various training programmes acquaints the enlisted students with the lives of armed forces and encourages them to develop discipline and leadership qualities. NCC also gives importance to social work and civil defence to all its cadets.
Annual Festival The college festival called Utsav is held annually that forms as a stage for the college students across Delhi to showcase their talent in dance, music, debate, drama, quiz, rangoli creation, mehendi designs and poem recitation. The inter-college competition is one of the most awaited events each year, which is also a platform for inter-college meet and friendships.
Infrastructure
Library Library in any educational institution forms a very important part in nurturing the students. A library has to be a temple of learning within the college for students as well as teachers and professors. Aditi Mahavidyalaya has about 20,000 books out of which 2,000 are reference books, apart from newspapers and magazines. The college library remains open throughout the year except during official holidays from 9 am till 5 pm.
Laboratories A number of laboratories adorn the college with best facilities. Biology Laboratory, Commerce Laboratory, Family and Child Welfare Laboratory, Food Technology Laboratory, Geography Laboratory, Hindi Journalism Laboratory, Music Room, Nutrition & Health Education Laboratory and Psychology Laboratory are the laboratories that have been established in the college for various disciplines and courses.
Computer Centre A computer centre for the students has been set up by the college. The computers are available with internet facility which the students can use for the assignments they are assigned with.
Canteen Talk about a college and not mention the canteen is no talk. Canteen of any college is the most happening place in the college premises and Aditi Mahavidyalaya has the right one for the students and visitors alike. At a reasonable price one can get to eat what she wants at the college canteen.
The college has yet to achieve a lot of things in terms of recognition and popularity. With already so many colleges with established names, it is a huge fleet of stairs for Aditi Mahavidyalaya to climb, however, with time and effort it is sure to rise up to the occasion.
