Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering(SVCE) is managed by Sri Venkateswara Educational and Health Trust(SVEHT) is also very well known as SVCE. This college is situated in an area of about 94 acres at Pennalur, Sriperumbudur with state of art infrastructural facilities in the Chennai – Bengaluru National Highway. SVCE initially functions at Nazarathpet and then shifted to the present Campus on 5.12.1992. His Excellency Shri R Venkataraman, the then President of India inaugurated the present campus.
The Governing Council of the college is chaired by well-known industrialist and philanthropist Dr. A.C.Muthiah, Chairman Emeritus, SPIC Ltd. Under his guidance, the college is progressing phenomenally. Members of the Governing Council consists of eminent persons from industry and academia.

Almost all the UG Degree courses are accredited by NBA. SVCE is also an ISO 9001-2008 certified institution. The college working hours is 08.30 AM to 03.30 PM for Students and faculty and 08.30 AM to 04.30 PM for all others.
SVCE is well known for its state of art infrastructure facilities. Each department is housed in separate blocks with laboratories attached to each department. All the laboratories are equipped with the latest technology computers / machineries.
Many students prefers SVCE for its impeccable Placement record. More than 99% of all eligible students are placed in Core and IT companies. Also top ranked students are selected to do higher studies in well known Universities in India and Abroad.
Transportation facility is one of the major strength of SVCE. College bus facility is available from every nook and corners of Chennai City. Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur district is also covered by the college buses.
SVCE management offers management scholarships to the students to a tune of Rs.One Crore every year on the basis of Economic Means, Merit cum Means and Merit. Also Laptop computers are provided to the students on subsidised rate on installment basis. Students are also sponsored to present papers in conferences, Workshops and Seminars in India and Abroad.
Students performing well in examinations, NCC, Sports etc. are honoured suitably by awarding the Devaki Muthiah Endowment Award (for final year UG student), Panickker Award (for third year UG student), Outstanding Sports Person Award, Outstanding NCC Cadet Award, Outstanding M.E./M.Tech Student Award, Outstanding MCA student Award, Outstanding Marine Engineering Student Award etc.
Graduation Day, College Day, Sports Day, NCC Day are conducted every year. Also through Parents Meet parents are invited to the college to know about the performance of their wards. This is conducted twice in a semester.
