There are three Senior Secondary Schools, three Secondary Schools and few primary schools in this Island. This Island is connected with ship service. The tribal of this Island is Nicobarese. There are more than 250 students are studying in this school. This school played a vital role in the development of Nicobarese of Sawai Village. This village was mildly attacked by the devastated Tsunami in 2004.

The school itself is a prominent structure. The school was totally devastated by the Tsunami in 2004. For more than two years the school was run at a temporary shelter but now there was a new building constructed for the school.

The school is having a large playground. The students love to play football. In many inter school tournament, the students of sawai school bagged the trophy many times.
