Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering And Technology, Pondicherry Review

I am a 2009 pass out from RGCET. I would like to present my view about my college in India Study Channel.

Location

Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering and Technology is located at Kirumampakkam, a small town in Pondy - Cuddalore road. It is 13 kms away from Pondy town. It takes about 20 minutes from Pondicherry bus stand to reach the college by bus. The college is constructed in a area of 30 acres.

Courses Offered

One Bachelors degree and tow masters degree are offered in RGCET.

I)Electronics and Communication Engineering
II)Electronics and Electrical Engineering
III)Information Technology
IV)Computer Science Engineering
V)Biomedical Engineering

2. MBA - General
3. MCA

Admission

Admission to the college is through CENTAC and management. CENTAC reserves 60% of the total seats.

Scholarship Program

Students joining the college through CENTAC and are residents of Pondicherry are eligible to obtain KAMARAJAR SCHOLARSHIP program presented by the Government of Pondicherry. Students who are eligible for the scholarship must have at least 60% of marks without arrears.

Students joining through mangement quota are not eligible for scholarship.

Lab Facility

Very well equipped labs are there in RGCET.
Especially labs in Department of Electronics and Communication are the best labs in Pondicherry.

Fluid mechanics lab, Computer Labs are well known for their advanced instruments in them.

Faculties

Experienced and devoted faculties are the back bone for the success of RGCET.
They motivate young and eager minds to full fill their dreams. Special coaching to lagging students are also given on their own interest.

Lovable and caring character of faculties makes them to mingle with students easily and understand their problems.

Hostel Facility

Separate hostel for boys and girls are provided by RGCET. Hostel is located at0.5 kms from college and bus facility is provided to hostelers. Hygienic food is provided.

Bus Facility

Bus facility is available from various parts of the city to college. Experienced drivers makes it a good travel to college.

Placement and Training Cell

Placement and training cell helps the students to achieve their dream of getting a job after completing their college education. But still it can improve.

Overall Comments

A nice place to learn. There wont be any stress given by the faculties. They are very kind. If they improve the T&P cell then its a very good college.
