GSSS, Tusnabad located around 25kilometer from Aberdeen Bazaar. Majority of the villagers are belongs to the category of pre-1942. They were settled in these Islands before the free India. The main occupation of these villagers is earning from cash crops such as betal nut, coconut etc. During favorable season they start cultivation like paddy and vegetables. In general, the people of this village prefer joining Government service and as per their wish large number of children joined in Government service. The school played a vital role in bringing the literacy of the village to some respectable numbers. All teachers of this school are making to and fro journey from portblair town. All students of this school belong to the same village of around three kilometer radius and availing the transport facility provided by the State Transport Service.

The academic area of this school lies around average. Students and teachers of this school work better to achieve good results in the board examination but their effort still assessed to be not up to the mark and require more hard work in the right direction to get much higher in the academic area.
