Govt Secondary School, Pilpillow which comes under Nicobar District is one of the most remotest school of these Islands. We have to sail for around four hours to reach this school with the help of a motor boat from Nancowrie harbour. This is completely tribal area so, only Nicobarese children are studying in this school. Outsiders are allowed to this Island only after production of valid tribal pass issued from the Deputy Commissioner, Car Nicobar. Nicobarese are one of the five tribals of Andaman and Nicobar Islands but they are prominent among all and highly educated. These tribal people acquired jobs in Government as well as in Private Sectors. Nicobarese are appointed as doctor, Teacher, Engineer, Education Officer and many more. All these credit goes to the Andaman and Nicobar Administration which helped a lot for the upliftment of these tribal people to the apex level. Schools with all facilities are opened in all remotest Islands for the benefit of the children of these area.

It is difficult journey for four hours to reach this school but the students of this school are coming from the nearby areas. So, no bus service is required for the students. Secondly, there is no road way to this school but now the survey has been taken and initiation for construction of road is under progress. It is believed that in one or two years there will be a road service which will make the journey so easier and simple. The staff of this school used to reside at pilpillow.
