I cannot say that this is my first school, but have to say so because my kintergarten school have closed down. I got a double promotion, or to be very precise, I didnot study UKG at all. I was given promotion to 1st standard, inspite of me not having the right age to be in 1st Standard. Though almost 30 years back, there was no entrance exams, I still remember the day, when my dad took me to school and the teacher incharge Ms. Aruna, asked me to write my name. I made a silly spelling mistake, but she smilingly said, its ok, it happens and she agreed to give admission in 1st standard.
I really learnt a lot in this school. And I remember the good old days I have spent in this school. I have always had come in the first 3 ranks always. I had real good friends and we all had great fun in school. And just because of us, our parents too became good friends. We had been on tour to near by places too (my friends and their families).
Every year, there used to be gala annual day celebrations and almost all the children are given a chance to participate. All these details are about 1980s when the school had classes upto 5th standard. The then Principal was Ms. Malarkodi. We had a wonderful English teacher named Ms. Saranya. Infact she was the one who taught us to think in English and speak in English. I am really greatful to her for moulding my English both spoken and written.
Now, the school have become a Matriculation school along with higher secondary.
