Jai Hind College, Mumbai Review An incredible plus point of Jai Hind College is that it has repeatedly got an A grade accreditation from NAAC. This proves the great quality of education provided by Jai Hind college. What's more, there is no dearth of talent, what with students of the college often bringing back trophies from inter-collegiate festivals!
Location: Jai Hind College has got one of the most envious locations in Mumbai – it is within 10-15mins walk from the lovely sea-face of Marine Drive. It is easily accessible by train, as it is fairly close to Churchgate station.
Academic programs: Initially begun as an arts & science college, today Jai Hind College offers a wide range of subjects, include subjects in the commerce stream. The college has also tied up with a couple of foreign Universities for some courses. An MBA program will be offered in the future, when the new annex building to accommodate more classrooms comes up.
Facilities: The college has a really large auditorium with fantastic acoustics. In addition, the college has an audio-visual center. The air-conditioned library too is state-of-the-art, with its own multimedia & internet facilities. Students & teachers can avail of photocopying facilities too. Right next to the library is a separate air-conditioned study room.
Other facilities include a computer lab and a biotech lab, and an indoor sports center. Here, students can enjoy carom, chess, table tennis, etc.
The open-air cafeteria provides for good seating facilities near the canteen section. The canteen food which students like the most are the dosas and frankies. When they get bored of eating the canteen food, students eat out at the famous eateries nearby, such as Pizzeria & Naturals. Then there is the famous Satkar and Mocha establishments.
Co-curricular activities: Every department in the college has its own society related to its subject – Psychology, English, History, etc. In addition, there are various clubs and cells, such as the National Entrepreneurship Network e-cell. Thanks to the many societies & clubs, there are plenty of seminars organised throughout the year.
