TKM Centenary Public School, Kollam Review
TKM Centenary Public School was started in the academic year 1997-1998 under Thangal Kunju Musaliar College Trust. It was built as a memorial of the founder of TKM trust late Janab A.Thangal Kunju Musaliar. The school is located on TKM complex in Karicode, Kollam. There are many other institutions of TKM trust beside this school. Also Karicode is a place famous for many educational institutions and for other markets. There is a railway station near by the school, which is called Koikkal railway station.
TKM Centenary Public School is affiliated under CBSE, this school also provide education for classes from Kinder Garden to XIIth standard, also they give a separate buildings with all the facilities for each sections like KG, high school and higher secondary. This school is famous for the best cultural activities, sports and other co-curricular activities. For the easiness and smooth running of the programs the school is mainly divided into four houses mainly Opal, Ruby, Emerald and Diamond. There is an election held for the House captains among the students to lead the houses. Besides these the school has provision for paintings, games, debates, recitations etc, which makes the school even colorful. All the students are being educated in good and fine English. TKMCPS is strict for the discipline and for curricular activities. They provide simplest form for a student to grab things quickly, they conducts quizzes, seminars, speeches etc on the topic and this helps the student to learn the topics very easily.
Another field in which this school shows strictness is for the uniform, which keeps unique identity for the school as well as the school. Higher secondary Students are strictly ordered to wear sky blue shirts and dark blue pants with an overcoat of same color as that of the pants and a tie of dark blue color with alternate white stripes. Where as other student has to wear a gray lined shirt with a gray pants, a tie and a belt. Every student are ordered to wear black shoes with white socks.
PTA meetings are held after every terminal exams to improve the performance of students by giving solutions to the parents. The students of TKMCPS are also well active in other school activities like NCC, club activities, teacher`s day, tour, exhibition and annual day. Finally the school gives enthusiasm to the parents by telling the slogan "Let your child be part of TKM Institution where quality is tradition. This could be the beginning of several higher education options TKM provides for your child".
