One of the most popular regional or state board school in the Belpahar town. School which comes under Jharsuguda district is the only Govt funded school in belpahar which accomodates students of lower primary, upper primary and higher seconday level. The school is affiliated to CHSE, state board of Orissa. In terms of Academics, sports, discipline or achievements it has always shown good results . Girdhar Lal High School has always been the center of excellence and has been the ray of hope for many under priviledged and poor guys.
The school is about 20km from the Jharsuguda city and about 1km from the nearest railway station, Belpahar. school doesnt provide any means of communication for boarding or droping. Students had to arrange for their transportations. Generally local students of nearby villages turn up to the school.
School conducts competition and tournaments with the other local schools of the belpahar town every year. Saturday is a half day of the school. School also organises science fair and exhibition for the promotion of talents of the students.
School has a playground, a botanical garden and huge space for other recreational activities for the students.
Fees of the school is around Rs. 50/- a month. The amount may fluctuate.
School Timing: 10:30am to 4:30pm.
