Only girls school in the twon of Belpahar. School comes under Jharsuguda district is the only Govt funded Girls school in belpahar which accomodates students of lower primary, upper primary and higher seconday level. The school is affiliated to CHSE, state board of Orissa. In terms of Academics, sports, discipline or achievements it has always shown good results . Girdhar Lal High School has always been the center of excellence and has been the ray of hope for many under priviledged and poor girls.
School Uniform is given free to all the students of the school and ladies bicycle is given freely to all the girls student who is completing class IXth there and continue for Xth.
The school is about 20km from the Jharsuguda district and about 1km from the nearest railway station, Belpahar. school doesnt provide any means of communication for boarding or droping. Students had to arrange for their transportations. Generally local students of nearby villages turn up to the school. The school is purely govt funded.
School organises science fair and exhibition for the promotion of talents of the students.
School has a playground, huge space for other recreational activities for the students.
There is no fees for Girls students in the school.
School Timing: 10:30am to 4:30pm.
