Skyline engineering is affiliated to Gautam Budh Technical University. The college was opened in 2004 with common branches like Mechanical, Electrical engineering. Although college is a common college in jungle of colleges in knowledge park. Electrical engineering of this college is very reputed and comes in best branches of university. So if you are searching for a normal college then you should go for it.
Connectivity of the college
College is situated on the expressway of the greater Noida and is little before the ‘pari chowk'. You have to take the yellow bus from the sec 37 metro station of botanical garden and you will reach here in just 45 minutes.From pari chowk you have to take the auto rickshaw as the college is around approx half kilometers from the pari chowk. College is on the front road so you can take the walk too. If you are day scholar then you don't have to worry as the college is near to the Delhi.
Infrastructure
College is spreaded in the 14 acres campus. Area wise the college is spreaded in large space, so no disappointment from the campus area wise. College has boy and girls hostel separately inside the campus. The laboratories here are not of stands as it should be. But yes you have the entire infrastructure needed for the doing practical's. 24 hour security and power backup is given to the students. Hostel rooms are all right and are spacious. College is having sufficient number of classrooms. One thing which I wanted to tell you here is that although classrooms are sufficient but they are not cleaned properly and yes they are having basic infrastructure with no modern teaching method. College has blackboards of pathetic quality and classroom furniture is also not comfortable. Sufficient laboratory for the mechanical engineering branch are there. Lot of construction work is going on in the college for expansion and yes amphitheatre is under construction. Common hall for students is rent inside the college. Gym facility is available in the college hostel.
Sports facility
For the sports lover this place is not a disappointment as lots of sports facilities are available. You all the basic grounds for regular sports like basket ball. In terms of indoor sports the college is having table tennis only but yes lower form of games like chess and carom are also available in the college. In annual fest the view is very good to see because the college teams compete with the teams of other colleges. Sports team of the college has bring many laurels to the college. So for sports section this much I have.
Transportation
College has hired a private contractor for transportation. I mean you cannot say that college has its fleet of buses actually. Yes there are two three buses of the college of their own for taking students for outside visits. College buses take students for the exams or for other test like activities. Special college buses are for the girls who are living in the hostel to drop them to the exam centre. You can have your mode transportation inside the college like bicycle or motorcycle. There is no restriction on this type of thing.
Entertainment activities
Most of the entertainment activities are done from the month February to the month of April. The reason for this is that first of all college organizes its annual festival in these months. Secondly you have you college team participating in other college festival. Fresher's party which is organized in month of October for the fresher's. In this party all the fresh students have to introduce themselves to all seniors. There are lot of other competitions organized in the party like dance performance etc. One very interesting completion is Mrs. and Mr. junior.
Outdoor programs
As such till now there is no outdoor tour or visit compulsory but sometime big industry chairman come here to give lectures. College assists there final year students in summer training programs. But if you are ready to do training in big industries then you have to have contact of your own.
Academic background
Academics of the college are all right. I mean it's not that bad and also it is not that good too. The teachers here in mixture. I mean by this saying that some teachers are highly qualified like they are PhD in their fields but on other hand some teachers are only B.tech pass out. Yes this is truth that college has teachers which are fresh graduates. College has very good library and lot of books both syllabus and non syllabus books are available. Various types of magazines also come in the college library.
Mess and Canteen food
First I will discuss the mess food here. The food served in the college is not very good. I mean you will feel disappointment with the type of food served. So it my advice to take the Tiffin service from outside rather than going for hostel food. College has a good standard cafeteria like that of café coffee day type. So you can get nice coffee, tea and other snacks in this canteen. Proper table and chair are there in the college canteen. So I found the canteen very good.
Placement
Placements are that much as it should be.Like this year only one company came for campus drive which is Bosch. Actually lot mass recruitment is done in greater Noida, so you can go there also. So fro side the placement is very less. It is around 30 to 40 percent only. So from placement side the college is not that good.
Hang out zone
Around 300 meters from the college small shops are there which offers lot of foods. From snacks to the proper meal, all you can get here. Facility of photo state is also available here. The rest places of hangouts are same.The Jagat farm and Ansal Plaza is the most favorite place to hangout.Lot of eateries, General stores and other shops are available here. You will see same information in this column in my every review because all the colleges in greater Noida are very close to each other and they have common place to hangout. Food served outside is very good and at reasonable rate. Great India Place is another very famous and most visited destination for hangout. Here all the cinema hall, clothe shops food chains and other shops are available. It is around 23 Km from the college and it takes only 40 minutes to reach by travelling on expressway.
Fee and school timing
Fee structure of the school is moderate if compare with the facilities provided by the college to the students. The fee for four year B.tech program is Rs 100000/- per year and it excludes the hostel fees. Some students also take admission by giving donations in the college. But I don' know the amount of donation. Scholarships are only for students belonging to the schedule caste and other backwards classes.
College timing is as follows:
9.00 A.M to 5.00 P.M and One hour break in between.
Conclusion
From my side my suggestion would be that you can go for this college only if you are not getting any good college. College like are available may in the knowledge park. So better check other colleges also before taking admission in this college.
