Introduction
Thirty three years ago, Doon Public school was established with the mission to impart quality education and provide good moral values to the students. Doon Public school is English medium co-educational school affiliated to CBSE Board. The school is ISO certified. Also, the institute is Registered Cambridge International Centre of University of Cambridge International Examination.
Academics
The school offers education from Pre- primary to Std. XII. Up to the Std IV students, school follows grading system. From class V onwards, examination system is introduced .The CBSE Board curriculum is followed in the school. The academic session is divided in two semesters. Various options of subjects are available for the students of senior secondary level. To keep the check on student's performance, regular class tests, surprise test and internal assessment is conducted. Smart Assessment System is used by teaches to evaluate the students.
Infrastructure & Facilities
The complete infrastructure of the institute is constructed with red brick. All the modern amenities and equipment are present in the school. The school provides latest technologies such as smart class with plasma screens and Computer Aided Learning which innovates the teaching and learning process.
Lecture classThe classrooms are converted to smart class. Computer Aided Learning and Teaching is provided with plasma screen. Teachers use Animation Clips, Videos, Diagrams, Maps, Graphs, Working models Computer based simulations etc. and various other resources to provide better understanding of the topic to the students. The classroom enhances the practical concept of the students.
LabsThe institute has well-equipped labs for science, math, bio-technology, language and fashion studies. Indians first Digital Math lab helps students to understand the concepts by visualizing, verifying and practice. The computer lab is equipped with TFT monitors and Internet facility. The science and other labs are also equipped with latest instruments so that students can learn and test the concept through practical.
Seminar HallThe school has a seminar hall to organize presentations, seminars and workshops. The seminar hall is equipped with presentation tools and can accommodate up to 120 students.
LibraryThe school library is well stocked with variety of books on different subjects. All the latest science and technology magazines, newspaper are made available to the students.
Music and Dance RoomsThe students having interest in dance and music can learn instrumental music and vocal music and dance. For this, a separate room is provided which has instruments like Keyboard, Guitar, Violin, Tabla , Flute, Mandolin, Harmonium.
ActivitiesExtra-curricular activitiesThe school aims in overall development of the student. For this, the school organizes events which boosts up the confidence and enhances the personality of the students. To organize the events, various clubs have been formed. To name a few, science club, G.K. club, English club, Drama club, Math club and computer club. There are many more clubs which plan and execute the competitions at regular intervals. Quiz, music and dance, essay-writing, drama competitions are held from time to time.
For pre- primary students also, events such as clay modeling, fancy dress, skating and more are organized.
Sports activities Table tennis, chess and other indoor games are available for students. A well-equipped gymnasium is present with tools like Power Racks, Bar Bells, Treadmills with heart rate Monitors, Leg Equipments, Bench Press, Weight Trees, Dumbbells, etc. The students can learn yoga, aerobics and martial arts.
Hostel
Separate wings for boys and girls is provided in the hostel. The hostel has all the necessary facilities. The students who are from outside Delhi are provided with hostel facilities from class V onwards .
Transport
Transport service is provided at the selected routes of Delhi.
Future plans of Doon Public School
Doon Public School is planning to introduce Smart class online and digital library. This will help the students the books online through intranet from home or hostel. Smart class online will be an educational portal to share contents and materials.
