Academics at St. Gregorios High School

The St. Gregorios High School imparts education from primary school to higher secondary school (up to Std.XII). The co-educational English medium school follows the I.C.S.E. curriculum and offers academic programs at the ISC level in Science, Commerce and Humanities.

The youngest students at the nursery level are taught with the Playway method, whereby the child learns at his/her own pace. There are no formal textbooks or notebooks. Great emphasis is laid on fun activities and learning how to express oneself orally.

At the next stage of education, namely the primary level, students are made aware of the environment. The emphasis is on learning with the help of a theme-based topic. Best of all, there are no formal exams! All activities are just given grades merely as a basis to assess the student's performance level.

Co-curricular and sports activities are introduced at the secondary level. At the higher secondary level, students are allowed to select optional subjects. These include learning the French language, Art and technical drawing, computer application, etc.

Infrastructure and Facilities at St. Gregorios High School

As in other schools, the 5-storeyed St. Gregorios High School has science laboratories for the various science subjects and computer labs too. There is an on-campus library for all students.

Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities at St. Gregorios High School

Besides the Scrabble Club, the school has a club named the St.Gregorious Interact club which was established by the Rotaract club of Deonar about 11 years ago. Students of Std.IX participate in this club's activities, which includes collecting funds through collecting old newspapers or clothers or toys, going on a clean-up drive to some location in the city, making greeting cards, singing carols during the Christmas festival, etc. Funds collected are used to give a special treat to the school staff or to provide education to poor children or to provide meals to orphans and similar other generous charitable activities. Workshops are conducted for students wherein they interact with reputed guest speakers. They also participate in quizzes and other competitive events conducted by the Rotary club.

Along with other schools, the St. Gregorios High School is a member of PEAS, an NGO which promotes environmental awareness among school students. Besides varied activities as a member of PEAS, the school also plays host to the annual regional PEAS festival.
