Overview
Maria's Public School is a private school managed by Marias Public Educational Trust. The school was founded by Mrs. Nellie Ahmed Tanweer and she started the school with only one student. Now the school has more than 3000 students. It is a highly reputed and renowned school in all over Guwahati and is having classes from primary to higher secondary. The school believes in learning beyond the classes and the school motto is truth, determination and perseverance. The school copes with the overall development of the student so that the student can make himself a place in this highly competitive world. The school provides various co-curricular activities as well as physical training to the students.
Location
The school is located in Birkuchi Tiniali which is 1 km away from the Narengi Point. The school is situated near the chandrapur main road.
Bus facility and transport
The school has around 14 school buses for the student's transportation. There buses cover almost all the main routes and stoppages of Guwahati.
Curriculum and academic
The school is affiliated to CBSE and follows the prescribed syllabus and course of CBSE. The subjects allotted to the students are english, mathematics, science, social science, second language (sanskrit, hindi and assamese), physical training, SUPW and computer science. The faculty is well trained and qualified. Special workshops and training are also conducted for the teachers. Every year the students have shown colourful and brilliant results in the Board Exam. Almost 25% of the total students secured more than 90% in the class X Board Exam.
Infrastructure
The school has separate building for the primary, middle, senior and higher secondary. There are well facilitating labs for biology, physics, chemistry, computer science and mathematics. The school has two playgrounds, one for the seniors which also have a basketball court and the other is for juniors. The school also provides a small canteen inside the school premises.
Co-curricular activities
Each year the school organizes an annual function to mark the foundation date of the school and students actively take part in various activities. The school also organizes sports day, singing and debate competitions, drawing competitions, school utsav and many more for the development of the students. The school also sends students for inter-school and national competitions. Every year the school also sends a selected student team accompanied by a teacher to attend the UN debate in the US.
Admission
Admission for the new session starts from the first week of April. The admission forms are given in the school office as well as in the school official website. Interview and written test are conducted for the selection of the students and sometime according to the merit also students are selected.
Fee structure
The admission fee cost around Rs 50,000 and for renewal of the old students coat around Rs 15,000. The school charges Rs 3000 as the monthly fee and Rs 2000 extra for transport fees. The fees increases every year.
