Overview Noonmati Public School is a private school whose aim and objective is to provide quality and professional education to all the students irrespective of their caste and creed. The school is having classes from primary and it covers a total area of 6906 square meter. The current principal of Noonmati Public School is Mr. Achan Kunhi T. George and Mr. Dambaru Dhar Talukdar, who is the chairman cum chief functionary of the society of the school, has been recently honoured with the title ‘The Great Achiever of Educational Excellence Award' in 2006 for his continuous hard work and dedication in providing education to children.
Location Noonmati Public School is situated on the Choonshali valley near the Choonshali main road of Noonmati. The whole school is surrounded by picturesque lush greenery and provides a calm, tranquil, pollution free environment for the student to gain education. The Indian Oil colony is located 7 km west of the school and the mighty Brahmaputra flows some distance north of the school. The beautiful Choonshali Hill is situated on the southern side of the school which actually provides a cool climate for the surrounding.
Bus facilities The school provides proper transportation to all the students covering almost all the main routes and bus stoppages of Guwahati.
Academic and curriculum The education of the school is quite outstanding. In a very short period of time the school has made its mark by showing colourful results in the Board exam. The school is affiliated under CBSE and follows the CBSE education system. The subjects allotted to the students are mathematics, science, social science, english along with hindi which is a compulsory subject. The students are also given a choice to choose a secondary language between assamese and computer science. Around 10% of the total student who appeared for the Board exam score above 90% in their academic performance. More than 45% of the total students score above 80% in the Boards. Teachers training programme are held monthly to train the teacher to cope with various students. The faculty is well experience and educated. The student teacher ratio is also quite apt which is 30:1.
Infrastructure The school has many separate building allotted to various classes. There are two big playgrounds and one assembly ground where students do their morning prayers and assembly. It has a multipurpose hall where various meeting, activities and extra co-curricular activities are carried out. Three well aired and maintained laboratories are provided for the students to give the students extra knowledge and to carry out various studies related experiments. The school also has a big library which is equipped with reference book, story books and other latest study materials. Audio-visual smart classes are also introduced to the classroom for better understanding and to learn more beyond their text books.
Co-curricular activities The school gives equal importance to extra co-curricular activities which are regularly organized by the school. Various competitions and contests such as singing, drawing, craft making, dancing, debate etc are weekly as well as monthly conducted providing a platform for the students to showcase their talent and inner qualities. The school also provide musical training in some musical instruments such as sitar, drums, piano and many more.
Admission Usually, it is in the month of March and April the admission for the new session starts. The selections of the students are mainly based on their academic performance and some time written tests and interviews are also conducted if necessary.
