Infrastructure and Education:
Coimbatore government medical college is situated in Hope College at around 65 acres near the government IT Park. The college is on the Avinashi main road. The lecture hall in the each department can accommodate around two hundred students. The environment is polite for teaching, though it is near to the main road. The lecture is by using the black board, PowerPoint projection and OHP projections. The lecturers are well versed in the subject. The professors have minimum of twenty years experience in the subject. The teaching is quite good in comparing with the government colleges. The professors class are par excellence.
Laboratory and Hospital with Transport:
The body dissection in the Anatomy subject is divided in tables which can take about twelve students per table. The laboratory is provided with all equipments since it is a government college. The college timing is from morning 8 am to evening 4.30. The theory classes in the college and the clinical classes are in the hospital. The hospital situated in the Coimbatore to Trichy road. The distance from the college is about 8 km. The transport facility to the students is through the college bus or the town buses. The college has a separate canteen apart from the hostel mess.
Students council and Entertainments:
There are hostel and college council. Usually the hostel is run by the hostel student council who are the pre final year students under the head of warden and deputy warden. The playground is provided with the gallery accommodating around 250 members. The cricket ground, football court, volley ball court and throw ball court are made in the ground. Also cemented basket ball court is there. The indoor stadium is there with table tennis board, shuttle court. Gym is there in the mens hostel. The water supply is corporation water which is usually continuous but interrupted sometimes. The entertainments such as college days, sports days and hostel days conducted in the college. The intra college winner is given the trophy. The auditorium is broad enough which can accommodate about 500 members.
College fee and Others:
The college fee is as per the government norms. Apart from the college tuition fee, there will be exam fee and notebooks charges. The library fee will be collected along with the tuition fee as special fee. During the admissions, the first year books along with the necessary medical kits will be given in the college itself. There will be admission fee for the college students. I suggest this college.
