Good: School premise is alright ,but they dont have a play ground for the kids, for the rest of things I would need a microscope to find any good
Bad: Attitude of the school authority, location, almost everything ,they dont have generator/inverter, so kids suffer very much,as we have frequent load shedding in this area
Recommend: Not sure
Bachpan A Play School, Lokhra Road, Guwahati Review
After going through websites of different schools, I chose Bachpan Play School,House No.6,Shree Nagar Path,Lakhra Road,Guwahati-781034.Assam,which is 2 Km away from my home and admitted my son (2+) there, thinking that It would be a better school than Kidzee and Eurokids, which are within walking distance from my home. Before admission,I was told that school van would be provided after one month of the opening of the school,But the word has not been kept,
I had a bitter experience the very first day I visited the school on invitation to attend the inauguration ceremony, which was started 2 hours after the scheduled time.
The school management is irresponsible and rude. They kept my son 45 minutes in wet clothes till my wife rushed to the school, on their call. My wife had to sweep and clean the floor of the school on their order. When I talked to them on this, far from regretting, they supported their own action.
I would request any impartial body to go through "My Diary" of all students, they will find the daily prayers written there, signed by the councilor, is overwritten in three places because all those three words were misspelled. When I informed this to the school authority, they told that after confirmation only they would correct those (I doubt that time they did not know the meaning of ‘thee and thy, and as such they wrote ‘the' in places of ‘thee ‘and ‘thy' ). When they found that they were wrong they overwrote the words and told to all the guardians that which was given earlier was old version and now they gave new version but they did not admit their fault. We also found many other mistakes in there note in "My Diary".
They gave different tiffin (tiffin time table as written in the diary) menu for different days. They insist on giving fast food, cakes, loaves and dry fruits rather than home made food and banana. My son, who is now 2 and half years old is under weight and has gastric problem & cannot digest cake, loaf, etc and cannot eat dry fruit. When we started giving boiled egg, potato and banana in tiffin, school authority strictly instructed to follow their menu for different reasons put forwarded by the councilor and the owner(?). According to the councilor, while taking home made food, my son makes the place dirty and according to the owner(?) these home made foods are not good for the health of my son.
By the by, the number students in this school still can't recognize A to z and 1 to 10 and they also cannot recognize colors. In the school whatever they do in their books, are done by the teacher(admitted by them) and home tasks are done by their mothers(home tasks for students(2+ years) of play-schools. Is 3 hours in school not sufficient for their study? When I took the same to their notice, their replies were nonsense and beyond my understanding.
For last few days my son has been occasionally slapping and ordering us in loud voice in slang Bengali "chup"(shut up). We never never used this word before him. Two other guardians reported the same to my wife.
After I took all these issues to the Authority of Bachpan, New Delhi, their reply was that, we can give any tiffin, provided we have to submit a doctor's certificate and a signed paper writing that school would be in no way responsible if any thing happens to my son consuming home foods. Further they intentionally avoided to forward their comments on all other issues raised by me.
I don't think the school authority here is eligible to own and run a school, but in our poor land it is money and not knowledge which is the power. These days petty businessmen are opening school with an intention to earn more money and raise their social status. I have paid around 10 thousand during admission + monthly fees. After admission only three months have elapsed, but the situation compelled me to stop sending my son to this school. At this moment, I myself don't know what would be my future course of action.
