Introduction
Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Puthuppally founded in 1982 is run by the Salesians of Don Bosco. It is a Christian minority school working in the Malankara Catholic Diocese of Thiruvalla. It is recognized by the Kerala Education Department and the students appear for Kerala S.S.L.C Examinations. The school and the whole system aims at imparting quality education to its students. Moreover the character and personality development of each student are well nourished.
Infrastructure and facilities
The school which started functioning in the year 1982, from its hut sized buildings has now grown to a status that has not been attained by any other school in the district. The school campus is dominated by a five storied building where the classes from L.K.G to higher secondary functions. The school has well equipped labs where the most modern equipments are used for educational aid. The library of the school is worthy to be highlighted, as it contain all necessary collection of books, journals and other reading materials. Apart from these the school has an Eco-friendly campus, vast playground, basket ball court and an audio visual hall. The school, however lacks a good auditorium.
Academics
The system that the school adhere to, emphasizes more on academics of students. The teachers of the institution are highly educated and experienced. The school is recognized by the state educational department and every year the students appear for the S.S.L.C examinations. As proposed by the educational department, subjects taught include Malayalam, English, Hindi, Science(Physics, biology, chemistry), Mathematics, Social science and Information technology. Apart from these, classes for Moral science, General Knowledge and English communication are also carried out. In the higher secondary section, only science subjects are available. This include Bio maths, science with IT and Mathematics, and science with psychology. The school has bagged 100 percent success in both S.S.L.C as well as higher secondary exams in the recent years.
Extra curricular activities
The emphasis the school gives to the extra curricular activities is not minor to that of academics. Every student is encouraged in establishing his or her abilities and talents through out his schooling period. the school is an active participator in the Kerala state Kalolstsavam and sports. There are work-experience fares and exhibitions conducted every year. The scout and guides team of the school also has to be mentioned. Various important days such as teachers day, childrens day and other important festivals are observed and celebrated with the active participation of students. The school also organizes study tours and picnics for all L.P, U.P, high school and higher secondary sections.
Character and spiritual formation
A healthy character is cultivated among the students with a sound spiritual and moral education. The school has articulated faith education program and seminars inculcating moral values.

Don Bosco is always developing its infrastructure and facilities. The school has now started the construction of a new auditorium. The school also conducts charity fund raising events.
