About college:
In Kolhapur district region, there are several good private institute are in place KITS College of Engineering, Kolhapur is one of the top institute among them. It is popularly called as KIT. KIT was established in the year 1983 for rural as well as urban growth. The infrastructure including main building and cottages for teaching staff, the whole college campus is spread across the 30 acres of land. The campus is surrounded with Kolhapur city on one side whether on another side the National highway No. 4 (NH4). The institute is located near the well known city called Kolhaur. It is 10Km away from the Kolhapur city. The public transport called Kolhapur Municipal Transport (KMT) is easily available along with good frequency to reach the college from Kolhapur city. It is attached to National Highway no. 4, so the students from other state can reach directly to the college. It is 11 Km from the Kolhpur railway station. Because of KIT is having good Infrastructure along with excellent academic result, it result in “A" grade award by Maharashtra government. It is also affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur which one of the top most University from Maharashtra state.
The all courses offered at KITS College of Engineering, Kolhapur are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
Infrastructure:
KITS College of Engineering, Kolhapur College is having good infrastructure facility. All the departments such as Civil, Mechanical, Electronics, Computer etc are well and properly connected to each other. It facilitates the easy communication between these departments to carry out common programmes conducted in the institute. The excellent hostel facility is provided in the college. The girl's hostel and Boy's hostel is well separated however is close to main building of institute in order to reach college easily. The along Kolhapur Municipal Transport (KMT) , the Auto Rickshaw facility is available from Kolhapur city to institute. The transportation facility can be availed either from the city or from Gandhinagar (A small town outside Kolhapur city) which is attached to National Highway no. 4. The facilities such as canteen and garden are provided outside the main infrastructure building of the college. However, it is easily reachable from the every corner of campus.

Admission and fees:
Candidate who are willing to take admission in this institute either can take to B.E. First year or to direct second year. The online admission facility is available. There is Centralized Admission Process is present by which admission are carried out at KITS College of Engineering, Kolhapur. Candidate who satisfies below criteria can apply for admission :
1) Candidate should have a good score in All India Engineering Entrance Examination - AIEEE exam. Based on Rank, the candidate are become eligible for admission
2) Candidate who have a good score in Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test
(MH-CET) are eligible for admission.

Labs:
Mechanical branch is well equipped with all necessary practical which are conducted in the mechanical field. Similar kind of separate labs are present for Production Engineering department. The testing machines required for field test are available in Civil department which are in academic schedule. The advanced computer labs with good internet network facility are provided in both Computer Science and Engineering and Information technology department. Biotechnology Engineering Branch is having a well developed laboratory along with advanced testing machines and these are in well condition. The electronic devices required in Electronics & Tele-communication branch are also properly designed and placed. So that all practical can be conducted efficiently and easily.
Teaching:
All the teachers from KITS College of Engineering, Kolhapur college are experienced and they have a good qualification. Almost all teachers have their minimum qualification as Master degree in Engineering. Friendly teacher encourages and motivates the students to go for practical approach for all engineering practices. The extra curriculum along with recruitment drives are conducted with the help of some of extra ordinary teacher. These teachers involves in some students who are good in study and conducts seminars and study session for students who are poor in the study.
Training and placement:
As there is help from teachers and student for training and placement cell, there is no need to say that, the Training and Placement department is performing outstandingly. Conducting aptitude test, taking seminar, carrying out expert lectures on English speaking and personality development, carrying out outing for students for education tours these are few tasks carried out by Training and Placement cell with the help of teachers and Students. Inviting new companies and executing campus interviews is main function of this department. This cell has great influence in placement of students of the college.
Library:
The main purpose of library that is the source of knowledge is get satisfied in this college as the Library is centrally located however it is outside the main building. Technical book, reference books, books in different language, journals, Notes are well separated and well maintained. Around 30, 000 technical books in different subjects, around 1500 journals and more than 700 competitive books are available. The computer science and Information Technology department needs CD and DVDs. For that purpose separate section is created and CD and DVDs are issued in that section.
Extra facilities such as Xerox machine and printer are also provided in the library and it is present at entrance so that it can be easily accessible. The most advantages part of library is it compute section, it is available for whole day and open to everyone. This section is well operated and support person is also available for addition support and maintaining the records. All the staffs working in library are local however they have sufficient knowledge and they are well graduate in respective discipline. Students takes advantage of reading of Newspaper which are in local and English language and Journal as they are within the easy reach to everyone who enters in the library.
There is extra facility is provided in the library and it who are economically poor. They can work in the library in extra hours and earn a pocket money. That is earn and learn facility is provided in the library. Apart from it, those who come top in individual department, books are issued without any charge for a year for them.
Sports:
Indoor badminton court is provided. Apart from it, a large sport ground is also available in the KITS College of Engineering, Kolhapur college. Not only outdoor Games such as Football, Cricket, Volleyball and Basketball but also indoor games such as chess, carom are also provided within the college campus. Jogging park is also available, student from this college can avail this facility without any extra change.
Hostel:
The hostels for girls and boys are well separated. Most of the students who are outside the state get the benefits of the hostel. Apart from it there are private rooms also available with some extra charge. Total number of boys hostel are7 and 4 girls hostels are available with minimum charges. The canteen facility is very much close to all these hostel campus. There are 9 boys hostel and 3 girls hostels are present. This is because of plan and design of all the hostel building is excellent. Every room of the college is well maintained and properly managed. Water supply is always available with good quality of water. The security guard facility is available in 24x7 manners. Separate ladies security rector along with guard is available for girls hostel.
Co- curricular activities:
The villages near by this area have a advantage of being this college in their premises. This is because the NSS camps formed in this college conducts extra ordinary activities in nearby villages such that every year they create new innovation. Not only boys but also girls are participating in the NSS camp. Apart from NSS camp, the activities such as cultural event, sport day, traditional day and teacher's day celebration are carried out very enthusiastically and cheerfully. The well known person from Art and Drama, from sports, from Education field, from Government sector is invited and the students who perform extraordinarily in cultural activity, in sports competition, in study and in competitive examination are awarded with them respectively.
Along with cultural activities, the technical activities which enhance technical skill of students are conducted. It includes National level Technical paper presentation, Technical Project Exhibition, National level Computer programs and Game design competition etc.
Cafeteria:
A good canteen along with snacks center is provided in the college campus. Canteen is open from morning 7.00 am and closes at 11.00 pm every day. Additionally, tea and copy shop is also provided which is open 24x7 hours. The boys and girls sections are separated in canteen area as well as in snacks center. Caterers from outside the campus provide healthy and delicious food in the canteen. There self service in canteen region.
Transport:
The institute is located outside the Kolhapur city. So reach at college, there are two ways one from Kolhapur city and another from NH4 highway section at entrance to Kolhapur city called Tavade hotel. From Kolhapur city, city Bus, Auto Rickshaw service is available with good frequency. From Tavade hotel, the private cabs are available to reach at KITS College of Engineering, Kolhapur college. Road and infrastructure to reach at college is good in condition.
Conclusion:
Institute is having excellent teaching staff with good experience. Practical labs and machines, tools used in project practical are well designed and maintained. Infrastructure and facilities provided at college are good. The institute is also having good campus placement in reputed companies on higher package. There is a scope of growth of individual, so those who wants to have a placement in good company with mark of education in reputed institute, they can join this college.
