Vivekananda College of Engineering & Technology, Puttur, Puttur Review
I have spent 4 years of my life in this college. I am a mechanical engineering student of this college (2005-2009). I have my own views and opinion about this college which I would like to pen down here.
Location :
VCET situated in a very calm place called Neharu Nagar which is just 3KM from the small city called Puttur. Puttur is somewhere about 60Km away from main city Mangalore. The Place where college is located is filled with greenery and many people will enjoy this place.
We have Vivekananda PU and Degree and Diploma College these are also situated in the campus. Because of these the entire place look like a big Educational institution with so many students and lecture moving around in this place.
Accommodation :
The college provides the Hostel facility separate for both boys and girls. These Hostels are very near to the college. For those who do not like the Hostel life, there are lots of PG accommodation available with comparatively cheaper and reasonable rates.
Faculty:
College has excellent faculty members. College has the excellent mixture of experienced and young faculty members. Faculties are very helpful. They are very good advisers in academics as well as in other matters also.
Laboratories :
College has very well equipped laboratories. Each lab is dedicated to particular subject only. It has computer lab which more than 400 computers. It has an internet lab which has more than 30 computers. This lab is opened for all in the college hours. Mechanical labs are placed in separate building. All the labs have dedicated lab instructors. All in all the labs are very good with all the required equipments.
Sports:
When it comes to sports I would sadly say that College doesn't support the sports as much as expected. It has a very huge ground but still I am not satisfied with the facilities available for the sports.
Campus:
As mentioned before college has very big campus also Degree, PU and Diploma colleges are very near to it. The campus look really huge. But still the construction work is still going or inorder to make the campus better. Hope the campus will look as beautiful as its hugeness in near future.
Conclusion:
As one of My friend said ‘VCET is a very good college for the students who wish study and enjoy a little and not for the students who enjoys more and studies a little'. And his statement holds good because of the discipline maintained in the college. It had laid a very strong foundation my life.
