About Engineering College of Modasa Government Engineering College, Modasa was established in 1984 under the Commission ERAT of Technical Education, Gujarat State, Gandhinagar in North Gujarat region with a view of strengthening the industrial development in the region. The region consists of industrially potential areas of Panchmahal, Sabarkantha, Banaskantha, Mehsana and Patan district of Gujarat. The college is affiliated with Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad. It is also recognized by an apex body in technical education, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The college is now entering in its 28th year and 24 batches have passed out up till now. Each Department has well established laboratories, computer center and has well qualified staff. Students as well as faculty members taking full advantage of expertise available within and outside the state in different discipline.

Infrastructure of Government Engineering College,Modasa The Infrastructure of the college is very good. This institute has six different departments for all different engineering branches. It has good facilities of labs. There are 3 different buildings of boys hostel and safety or security is excellent for hostel. A canteen facility is also provided by this institute.
Library The College has reached library having total number of books over 21,513 costing more than Rs. 30 lakhs. Journals, Periodicals and proceedings for various disciplines are regular features of the library. It also provides audio visual and learning resources, teaching aids. It accommodates a large well furnished space for reading and reference. The state government has provided 50 Computers of latest configuration to setup digital library. About 35 to 40 % students can get the books from book bank based on the income. SC/ST/PH students are given priority. Each students will get two cards from the library. He/She can borrow maximum two books for a period of maximum 15 days from the library.
Internet The Institute has at present 8 mbps dedicated BSNL Internet Leased Line facility which can be shared among the various departments. The Institute has also, 10 VPN (Vertual Private Network) Nodes of 2 mbps Broad Band under Central/State Govt. Scheme connected with varius Universities/Institutes. Each department/faculty of this college has different wi-fi hubs and giving speed up to 25 mbps.
