The school was established in 1996 by Mr.Pradeep and Late Mrs.Pradeep. The school had near to 50 students when its started. In 1996 only classes from L.K.G to 4th standard were available. It was a very small school situated in the outskirts of Kothamangalam town. The school was known for its innovative teaching approach and high success rate of the passing out students. Now the school have classes up to 12th standard. Students passing out of the school are often praised for the communicating skills and good moral values. During the last 16 years the school has grown immensely and is an umbrella for more than 2000 students. The pass rates in board exams is 100% for the last 5-6 years. The current Principal of the college is Joy Kuriakose sir. He has an experince of more than 25 years in the profession of teaching. He joined the school in 2005and from then the schools has been flying in high colours. The school made an outstanding performance in 2005 Xth class board exams with all the students scoring Distinctions in the exam. The lab facilities in the school are almost astonishing. In colleges we might have seen labs with such facilities but for a school such facilities are rare. The school is situated in a less populated area so the calm and quite atmosphere can give the students a better environment to study. Green Valley Public School often called as GVPS has also made its mark in the sports field with many students making it to earn medals and records as well. The school is also know for its Grand Annual day functions which can be compared to any big film award nights. The schools does not have hostel facilities but this school can be an excellent second home for any children.
