About the college
Duvvuru Ramanamma Womens College is one of the top rated colleges in Gudur town. The college was established in 1981. It was because of the dedicated efforts of Savera charities and top businessman, philanthropist and socialite Shyam Sunder Reddy that the college came into existence. The correspondent of the college, Dr. C.R. Reddy and Principal Dr. K. Meharmani has also significant roles to play in the establishment and development of the college. The college started out as an intermediate and degree college and as the time went on post graduate courses were also introduced. The college is affiliated to Sri Venkateshwara University, Tirupathi , is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India, New Delhi and accredited by NAAC committee with A grade and recognized by UGC. The college provides quality education in fact the main aim of the college is to provide education for economically poor girl students from the neighbouring villages.
Location and Accessibility
The college is located in the heart of Gudur town. The college is easily accessible and well connected by both private and public transport. The college is in walk able distance from the R.T.C Bus stop as well as Gudur railway station and almost all the auto rickshaw drivers know about the college.
Campus and Infrastructure
The college has a large campus which includes intermediate, degree and PG buildings. The college has a separate building dedicated to Bio technology. The class rooms are large and spacious with nice seating arrangements as well as good ventilation and fresh air circulation. A canteen, a large play ground, a Ganesh Temple, an internet cafe and the Hostel buildings are also included inside the campus.
Admission and Fee structure
Admission into the intermediate and degree courses are on merit basis and decided by the management while the admission into the PG courses are through university examinations like SVUCET. Management seats are also subjected to availability.
The fees for intermediate and arts courses are marginal however fees for self financing and PG courses are according to the university norms. Fees for the management and NRI seats are decided by the college accordingly.

The college has a large team of most experienced and highly qualified faculty, who are always ready to guide the students and positively motivate them to attain career growth and reach new heights in academics. The college offers various courses at intermediate, degree and PG level, the medium of instruction for intermediate is Telugu, Telugu and English for degree and for P.G the medium of instruction is English only. The students have distinct uniforms for intermediate, degree and P.G students and the college is very strict in attendance and discipline.

The College has well developed and separate set of Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Bio Technology labs for intermediate, degree and P.G students. The labs are also well equipped and well maintained by well qualified and very helpful lab assistants.
The college has various departments like department of Bio Technology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Zoology, English, Arts, Hindi etc and the departments are well maintained by the concerned head of the departments.

The college has a large and spacious internet cafe with plenty of computers and good seating arrangements. The internet center is equipped with advanced high speed and reliable net connection and charges very less fees per hour of browsing. Students can access the net any time during the college hours.
Library and Seminar Hall
The college has a large and spacious well maintained library which has a huge collection of subject books, reference books, magazines, novels and literature books, wide range of journals and news papers. Students can access the library at any time during the college hours. The college has a well developed seminar hall where students as well as guest lecturers give seminars on various subjects.
Sports
The college campus has a large play ground and a dedicated sports faculty. The college is equipped with facilities like badminton court, basket ball court etc. Students of DRW have won in several district level and state level championships. The college also has a fully modernized and well equipped gym.
Co-Curricular Activities and Events
The college conducts debate competitions, innovative seminars, study tours etc prizes are given to encourage the students. The college has an active NSS unit, the students of the college also take part in various social work and blood donation camps. Events like fresher's party, Independence day, republic day, sports day, annual day and farewell party are celebrated grandly.

DRW College provides its students with all the career guidance they need to get a successful career. The placement cell provides awareness among the students on career planning and trains them for various interviews. Lot of students are selected in campus interviews from the college every year.

Hostel and Canteen
The college has three large hostel buildings to accommodate intermediate, degree and P.G students. The hostel rooms are large and spacious as well as free from overcrowding. The hostel building has an attached T.V room, reading room, temple and attached S.T.D booth and Xerox center. The hostel also has an excellent laundry service which is very economical and useful for students. The hostel is maintained by an experienced warden. The hostel has good security and is very strict in discipline. The room rent is very reasonable, the hostel has good water supply and the hostel mess provides excellent pure vegetarian meals at very reasonable prices. The college canteen is attached to the college building. The large and spacious canteen provides delicacies like dosa, vada, idly, tea, coffee and soft drinks. DRW College is a great place to study and enjoy a good college life. The college provides quality education and it has all the facilities and a very good infrastructure.
