About the school
The School is one of the oldest schools in the town of Thalassery. The school began functioning in 1856 but at that time it was named as Basel German Mission School. When the school faced crisis, a Parsi Philanthropist, Kaikose Ruderasha came forward and donated funds for the development of the school, hence the school was renamed as on Basel Evangelical Mission Parsi High School in his honor. The school is run by the North Kerala Diocese of the Church of South India. The school follows Kerala state syllabus. The medium of instruction is in both English and Malayalam.
Location and Infrastructure
The school is located in the heart of Thalassery town. The current building of the school was built in 1903. The school buildings have acquired heritage status because of its unique architecture. The school building is vast and two storied, with large and spacious hall and classrooms.
Transportation and school timings
Since the school is situated in the heart of the town it is easily accessible. The school is very near to the old bus stand, auto rickshaw and taxi stand. The working hours of the school are from 9.30AM to 4.00PM from Monday to Friday.
Faculty and academics
Rev. Dr. Hermann Gundert the great German scholar and literature genius used to teach at BEMP high school during his time Keeleri Kunhikannan the father of the Indian circus used to work as sports teacher in BEMP. It is about the past of the school. Currently the school consists of large team of highly qualified teachers who not only provide quality education and guidance but also emphasize on character building and see that every student of BEMP grow up into a successful and responsible citizen. The school has high academic standards and the students of BEMP have always topped in the class tenth, SSLC board exams.

Library and Laboratories
Libraries play a significant role in the success and development of any educational institution, as far as the library of BEMP is concerned, it is well maintained and consists of all kinds of subject books, reference books, story books, magazines and various news papers. The students can read peacefully in the reading room adjoining the library.
The school has large and spacious well maintained Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science and Physics laboratories. The laboratories are managed by efficient, friendly and well qualified lab technicians.
Participation in sports
The best feature of the school is its dedication to sports. The students are good at football, basketball and running race, they have also participated and won several district level and state level competitions in the past.
Co-curricular activities
The school encourages its students to participate in various competitions like drawing, music, drama, mimicry, dance, essay and poetry writing etc the students of the school also actively participate in various inter school competitions and the youth festival conducted by the SCERT.
NCC
The students of BEMP show active participation in NCC. Students are also sent for NCC camps to various places around Kerala as well as around the country.
