Sankethika Vidya Parishad College of Engineering was established in the year 2003-2004 with basic amenities and infrastructure. It is permanently affiliated to Andhra University right from its establishment but still has not gained any reputed ranking or good rewards in the city. At the same time, similarly affiliated college, ANITS gained huge reputation due to its development. The same development was unable to be applied to this college though it is situated very near to the college just behind the ACA-VDCA Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy International Cricket Stadium. The College has huge building in which all the departments are located in the same building including the Administrative Block which prevents the students to be free in the college. The college is very close to the National Highway - 5 and hence is provided very well with transport through APSRTC buses and private services.
Sankethika Vidya Parishad is recognized to be one of the very nearest colleges within the city limits of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation. The college has self-transport facility as many other colleges but the main disadvantage and negative aspect is that College Bus Fee is very higher when compared to the expenditure that is consumed when one prefers a local transport. Also, the transport facility provided by this college is not a high class one. Majority of the college students prefer local transport for the same reason though its needed to be standing for half an hour or so in the buses. These students face many sorts of problems because, the road being a very busy highway comprises of huge crowd in buses and also there would be no proper shelter for them to stand until the bus arrives. The area where the college is located is a very busy area and has many colleges causing huge crowding, both on roads and in the buses. This is causing accidents frequently and its the responsibility of the College to take care of their students which is not being implemented.
Coming to the academic elements of the college, it is not recognized as a good college to join in and during the counselling period, average students generally dont prefer it at the beginning. Many, choose this college as one among the last options because of its lack in reputation in academics. The affiliation it has gives it some name than the work it does itself. The elements that are needed to be improved here are:
The college administration should take care that their students should both participate as well as organize various technical events such that the reputation improvises.
Also, the college need to develop its infrastructure by upgrading them to latest requirements.
An engineering college needs vegetation to be grown up within its campus which should be very well encouraged here.
Last but not the least, to summaries, any college encourages talents and hence its good to join here and improve it by taking initiation. Any college can be developed only when an initiation is taken and hence if you can take an initiation to develop this college, you can join here. Anyways, the initiation has already started.
