D.A.V. College, Bathinda Review
It is my second year in the college. The atmosphere of the college is good for teaching and hats off to the science department whose teachers are very good and of supportive nature. The college always ensures the adequate availability of teachers required to teach the students and till today I haven't faced the lack of teachers in the college. For other teaching departments of college, it has procured experienced teachers, most of them has cleared UGC-NET. However, the college office staff is a little lazy in publishing important notices regarding holidays, strikes and examinations etc.
The security arrangements by the college are very good and I have not seen any breach of discipline yet. The college has good playground facilities and has won various medals in kabbadi and hockey at university level.
The canteen and library of the college are the drawbacks. Though the library has a large collection of material to read, there is lack of peace in the reading hall as most of the students just used to sit there and be a nuisance. Even though mobile phones are not allowed to be used in the reading hall, yet students use it and there is no supervisor in the reading hall.
There are separate buildings for canteens for boys and girls but these are very old and the college needs to construct new buildings for canteen.
There are no hostel facilities in the college. Also there is no transportation facilities for students coming fro distant places and the walking distance from local bus stand is very long.
