Govt Secondary School, Durgapur has an exotic location. Most students of this school are belonging to fisherman families. It is a Telugu medium school. However, English medium is also inducted in the primary classes. This is a village school. So, all students are coming to this school from nearby areas only. This school does not have any canteen and bus facility. During 2012-13, the science exhibit of this school was selected for the National level.
