Marshall School, Dehradun, Review
The condition of the school is below standards. There are not enough teachers and the ones present lack in experience. Most of the teachers don't teach in the classes. They give Board classes to new teachers who have just graduated. I myself have studied in the school for 10 years and trust me, the discipline level is below zero. Some teachers can't even handle the class!! The children do all kinds of drugs within the school campus and all the teachers knowing it, just ignore it.
There are no extracurricular activities and no sports. The senior section students don't even have any Games period and all those courts which are being said to be on the campus do not even exist. It is just a cemented ground with two basketball courts which are never used - not even once!
They have an annual day annually and the role of girls in the annual day is to dance while the boys are forbidden to participate in it. A football competition is organized sometimes once in a year only for boys. So basically the girls here are to dance while boys are just to play football, that too once in a year.
For five years I have studied in the senior section but not once I have been to a lab. The only time labs are used is during the pre-Boards.
During my 10th Std., half of the class would play cricket while the teacher taught, ignoring the chaos, while the other half would bunk. The handful left in the classroom would try their best to understand but could not do so since the environment itself is not appropriate for learning, with the teacher constantly interrupting to yell at the students who were disruptive. So, basically, students are indisciplined and teachers are not good, infrastructure is non-existent.
So I suggest that you knock this school off your list and save your child's future.
